When I was in middle school, I felt very lonely and out of place. I was picked on a lot and was seen as an "easy target" because I would never stand up for myself.

In High School I played NHIAA Unified Basketball.  I loved it because people with intellectual disabilities and people without intellectual disabilities play together.  I loved to get to wear the Belmont High School uniform and be a part of a varsity team!

Special Olympics has provided me with a confidence that I thought I never had. I stand up for myself, I have a voice and I use it to make this world a better place. I believe in myself and that anything is possible.

Special Olympics and Law Enforcement are great friends.  The officers help pass out medals and cheer us on, but most of all, they keep us safe. I love that I have gotten to meet so many members of Law Enforcement through Special Olympics.  All the officers have treated me with respect and made me feel loved and comfortable.

I was selected to do the Final Leg of the Torch Run at the USA Games in Nebraska. It was great being able to run with different law enforcement officers from different states. We got to know each other and to this day I still keep in touch with them through email and text!

Here in New Hampshire, I have such a great relationship with State Police that they awarded me an Honorary State Police Detective!

Law enforcement officers are amazing people and they do so much for Special Olympics and the athletes. I love them a lot.
