Happy New Year!

On behalf of the Eagle Creek Park Foundation Board of Directors, I'd like to introduce myself, Alex Upchurch, as the new president.

I have served on the board for the past three years and been Fishing Derby chairman for the past two.
As a park neighbor, I've naturally become a regular park visitor over the past 12 years. If I'not on the trails, you can find me on the Sunday morning bird walks with my family.

I'd like to announce the newly appointed Vice President Erich Muensterman, who also chairs the Iron Eagle Paddle & Run, and Victoria Fine as secretary. We're also excited to have Bruce Kennedy as a new board member, and welcome back one of our past presidents and advisory committee member, Dr. Michelle Cloud. We do have some openings on the board, so if you or someone you know is interested in applying, please contact Sam Chambers at 317.327.7116 or ecpf@comcast.net.

As for park updates, you'll notice that the directional signs are being replaced, and the dead ash trees are being removed. I'm looking forward to kicking off a great year with the help of park supporters like you!

Membership & Park Pass Reminder

Have you renewed your Foundation membership and Eagle Creek Park pass? Don't forget, a minimum $85 donation to the Foundation gives you a 2015 pass waiving your $5 daily park entrance fee year-round.

Foundation membership is already built in ($35 is tax-deductible plus any other contribution) and includes invitations to exclusive park events and discounts with park partners. Every additional $50 donation qualifies for another park pass.

Passes purchased at the gatehouses or through Indy Parks do not solely benefit Eagle Creek Park. Instead, they are dispersed throughout the overall park system. Whereas, when you purchase a Foundation pass through us, $20 from each pass stays within Eagle Creek Park.

How Do I Give? 3 Easy Ways

  • Online
  • Call the Foundation office (317.327.7116); donations accepted over the phone
  • Stop by our office due west of the 56th Street entrance, and ask for Sam Chambers. If you'd like a pass, request a Foundation gate pass (this is important as we do not work the front desk!)
Our office is open Monday-Friday from 9am to 5pm.
Woodcarver Exhibit & Sale Runs March 7-8 at Earth Discovery Center

Looking for a unique gift or conversation piece for your home? Area woodworkers will showcase their fascinating talents at this annual exhibit by showcasing not only artistic, but functional pieces of art at the Earth Discovery Center. Artwork will depict wildlife, flora and fauna, and even traditional Native Americans.

In the past, we've seen wine stoppers, puzzles, fan pulls, jewelry holders and lidded boxes among rustic home dcor. You can watch demos and kids can partake in interactive soap-carving activities.

15% of proceeds from sales benefit the Foundation! Hours run from 9am to 5pm, and admission is free with entry into the park.

Go Ape Raises $750 For Foundation!

We'd like to thank our generous friends over at Go Ape for hosting a fun-filled fundraiser weekend for the Foundation back in October. Around 200 participants swung through the adventure course to help us better the park. Thank you to all the members who came out to support our cause with a little bit of adventure!

Don't forget, Foundation members receive a 15% discount for not only themselves, but up to 4 friends when booking online with our exclusive member code. If you do not have this on record, please call the Foundation office at 317.327.7116. Go Ape plans to open on April 1.
