St. Nicholas' mission is to be an example of Christ's love for all people.
Our vision is to be the center of nourishment in mind, body, and spirit
for all people in our community.

Annual Parish Meeting
On January 14, St. Nicholas will hold its Annual Meeting and election of new Vestry Members. The meeting will be held between the 8:30 am and 11:00 am services. Everyone is encouraged to attend. If you would like to nominate a candidate for the Vestry from the floor at this meeting, please be sure you have that person's permission. The requirements for serving on the Vestry are you must be at least 18 years old and be a regularly attending and pledging member in good standing.
New Organ!
Thanks to the generosity of many, we will be able to purchase the organ that Wyatt Poe, our Organist and Choirmaster, located and recommended to us.

What a wonderful gift to the Glory of God and congregation of St. Nicholas!

Thanks be to God!
MLK Day Parade Jan 15
St. Nicholas has proudly marched in the Hamilton MLK Day Parade for the last seven years to show our support of equality and unity between all people, as was Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream. In the last few years, we have joined with our partner church, Christian Valley, in the parade. We will do so again this year on January 15. We will meet at the Carver Resource Center in Hamilton at 12:00 noon to march in the parade, please bring food for a tailgate. We will set out at 1:00 pm along side Steve Morse's firetruck singing songs of God’s love, and participate in a service with our fellow Christians. All are welcome to join us!

In Need

The nursery is in need of a DVD player. If you have an old or spare one you wouldn't mind donating, the nursery and the children would greatly appreciate it.
SNICK

SNICK has posted a new dinner sign-up sheet in the hallway off the narthex. The children of SNICK are so appreciative of all our parishioners do to support them. If you would like to bring dinner for our kids please choose a date on the sign-up sheet and/or contact Ashley Taylor at (706) 575-5443with any questions. Please plan to feed about 30 people at 5:30pm. From spaghetti, to chili to sandwiches, all offerings are appreciated.
Our SNICK kids meet every Wednesday night 5:30pm - 7:30pm.
Mondays at 1:30pm
Holy Eucharist at Harris County Jail,
contact Katherine Johnson.

We are in NEED of 2-3 more volunteers to go with us to the jail, especially on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Mondays of the month. If you would like to help, please contact Katherine Johnson.
Donate food to fill backpacks. We need nourishing foods such as cheese sticks, applesauce, tuna, granola bars and ravioli. The snacks help ensure that the students - whose families struggle to afford food - eat well over the weekend.

If you'd like to help out with BackSnacks contact Grant Flynn at 706-457-9531 to volunteer.
Lay Eucharistic Visitor Training
Another wonderful opportunity to show our love and compassion in the community has presented itself and as usual many hands are needed.

Roosevelt Place in Warm Springs currently has seventeen residents and has asked us to bring communion to there staff and residents the third Sunday of each month.

In addition Oak View Nursing Home in Waverly Hall has also invited us to give communion to their residents. They have around 100 residents and we will give communion to them every fourth Tuesday of the month.

Martha Dimon and Bert Tomlin will be taking the lead on visiting these homes and will welcome anyone to join them each month.

The scope is great so please pray about whether you should be a part of this ministry. If you would like to join us please contact Martha Dimon   and schedule the necessary training.

You will be much more blessed than the residents of these homes.
Bright Way Services

"We took church today to Brightway Personal Care Home. My wonderful friend, Bert Tomlin, gave a beautiful homily on letting go and letting God do what he does. I love Sundays with these seniors. Some of them don't know why we are there but they seem to know we love them." ~Linda Sawyer

Contact Bert if you would like to participate.
