Business News Update
January 15, 2021
Jim's Notes

Greetings Friend,

We are half-way through January already and 2021 has come in like a whirlwind. Many hoped that a new year would bring relief from our troubles in 2020 and it will, it will just take time.

As we head into the darkest time of winter take time for yourself, walk the beach on these warmer (wind-free) days, learn a new craft, listen to music, reconnect with old friends. Be kind to yourself and those around you, support a non-profit organization that is helping those in our community who are struggling by donating funds or volunteering your time.
Be Safe and well,

Warmest regards,
Jim & Robin

Bits and Pieces
The Airport rolled out a name change and new brand. The airport formerly known as Barnstable Municipal Airport (HYA) will now be marketed as Cape Cod Gateway Airport!
Airport Manager Katie Servis said “The new name and logo were chosen after a year-long review of alternative names presented during the Airport Master Plan Visioning Sessions and through discussions with airport users and Town of Barnstable officials... We wanted to ensure we created a greater sense of place as we market to travelers and users of the facility.”
“After months of deliberation and local and national research, we are happy with our decision with the name and logo,” said Assistant Airport Manager Matthew Elia. “We are excited to start this new year with a new look.” The airport will be gradually changing the logo throughout the terminal and grounds.
Upcoming Fee Changes at Cape Cod National Seashore

WELLFLEET, Mass – Cape Cod National Seashore Superintendent Brian Carlstrom has announced changes in the fee program at Cape Cod National Seashore for the upcoming 2021 season.
The daily motorcycle entrance fee will increase from $15 to $20, and the daily bicycle or on-foot entrance fee will increase from $10 to $15. This change is in response to the National Park Service effort to standardize entrance fees across the National Park System. Fees for vehicle entry will remain the same, as will the cost of the seasonal Cape Cod National Seashore pass, which provides access to the six national seashore beaches throughout the season for $60.

We're very excited to announce that our sea turtle rescue program is featured in a new BBC nature series called "Perfect Planet"! Wellfleet Bay and its sea turtle partners will be part of the fifth and final segment on Discovery's new streaming service called Discovery Plus, starting January 24th.
