We are going to have a potluck coffee hour at 10:30A before the Annual Meeting.  We'll provide quiches, bagels, cream cheese, coffee, tea and juice - would you be willing to bring fruit, muffins or breakfast bread?  Drop it in the kitchen on the way into church that morning, and we will set it out.

TCC's Annual Business Meeting, January 22 at 11A
Everyone is invited to come to the Annual Meeting of Trinitarian Congregational Church, THIS Sunday, January 22 at 11A.
Yes, only church members can vote to adopt a 2017 Budget and a new slate of church leaders, BUT all regular attendees should come to get updates on what is happening at TCC!  There'll be time for "Q and A's" as well as a time to reflect on what TCC has done this past year and offer feedback to the current leadership.

Children's Programming During the Annual Meeting
There is care for children (infant through grade five) for parents attending the annual meeting.  For safety sake, children (infant - grade 5) need to be supervised during the Annual Meeting.  Children may stay with their parents in the meeting OR go to kid-care in age appropriate rooms.
  •  Children will be dismissed from 9:30 LTA as usual.  Please pick up ALL children at end of the service.
  •   Refreshments for families in Phillips Hall (Encourage your kids to have refreshments, as no additional snack will served in children's rooms during the meeting.)
  •  At 10:50A - Parents staying for the Annual Meeting should escort their children to their appropriate rooms.
    •  Infants - preschool children to Room 105
    •  Elementary children to Room 204
  •  Parents should pick up their children immediately following the Annual Meeting in their respective rooms.

Help Needed in Children's Ministry During Annual Meeting
We need 3 additional people to care for children (infant  grade five) during the Annual Meeting this Sunday, Jan 22, from 11A - 12 noon. If you are able, please email Gail at [email protected]

Announcements

2017 Offering Envelopes
Offering envelopes for 2017 are now available in the church lobby for pick up.  If you like to use assigned envelopes and do not see a box already there for you, let Aimee Mury know by signing up on the clipboard sheet located in the lobby with the envelopes, otherwise call the church office at 508-358-7717, or email Aimee at [email protected] .
Likewise, if you have assigned envelopes, but won't use them, please leave them in the box in the lobby BUT mark "Won't need" and initial the box.  This will save us from over ordering next year.  Thank you!

Electronic Givers - Something to Put into the Offering Plate...
Several people who give to TCC electronically have mentioned wanting to symbolically put something into the offering plate as it is passed each week.  Laminated cards are now available with a message stating electronic giving.  You can request one from the Ushers when you pick up your bulletin each week.  Simply place it into the offering plate as a symbol of your giving!

** Winter Weather and Possible Church Cancellations**
With winter on our doorstep, here is TCC's inclement weather policy regarding church service delays or cancellation.  In the event of bad weather, a decision will be made by 7P on Saturday night for Sunday morning services.  On Sunday mornings, we may potentially cancel the 9:30 service (along with all LTA and Student Ministry Programming) and just have the 11A service.  There would not be any Student Ministry or Children's Programming at the 11A service.

You can learn about any plans to cancel or delay services by:
  • Calling the church office (508-358-7717; a temporary message will be left on the church's answering machine so that people may call in and find out the status of services)
  • Checking the front page of the TCC website
  • Checking CBSBoston.com
  • Watching WBZ-TV

As always, please use your own discretion before traveling in any questionable weather!

Lost and Found - Everything Left in the Church Coat Closets will be Donated on February 6.
Our coat closets and Lost and Found box are overflowing once again!   We are currently doing our New Year cleaning.  Please help us stay organized by taking a few minutes to go through what's there, and claim your belongings.  All unclaimed items left in the church closets will be donated on Monday, February 6.  Thank you!

Are you Missing a Dish, Tupperware Container or Pan?
On the kitchen rack next to the refrigerator, there are many unclaimed kitchen items.  Please stop by, and see if your items are among them.  Anything remaining after February 6 will be donated.

Precepts Women's Evening Bible Study - Galatians
As the gospel spread across the Roman world in the first decades after Jesus' earthly ministry, conflict arose. Jews and Gentiles came to believe the gospel, and a struggle over what it meant to be a Christian began. What does it mean to live under grace? Do you have to keep the Law to be a Christian? All of it or just part of it? Who is right? How will we know?
God used an apostle to write a letter to some churches that were struggling with this issue, a letter that still speaks today. Its message clearly defines the relationship between Law and grace, and how Christians live under grace, led by the Spirit, free from bondage.

Volunteer Opportunities

TCC runs on volunteers! Please visit the TCC "How to Serve" webpage at http://www.tccwayland.org/serve.php for more information.   Here are a few current opportunities:

Additional Ushers Still Needed...
Our mission:   To welcome every visitor and member to the house of God!

What is needed : Ushers are absolutely critical in helping newcomers form their first impression of TCC. You help set the tone for the worship experience to come. You are representatives of God's kingdom.  You're not just opening doors, providing information, handing out bulletins or collecting the offering, you are making people feel welcome!

Could you help ONE  Sunday morning a month?  Please contact Debbie Wilson at [email protected] or 508-358-7717.

Volunteer Offering Counters Needed ...
Are you accurate and reliable?  Volunteers count the weekly offering (mostly checks for deposit) each Sunday, and we are in need of new helpers.  Offering counters work in pairs.  Contact Aimee Mury at [email protected] or 508- 358-7717, x303 if this might be a way you could help us.  Training provided!

Coffee Hour needs YOU!
If you enjoy having a cup of coffee while chatting with others between Sunday services, please sign-up (alone or with your Small Group) to host a coffee hour!   You don't even have to provide snacks - just make, set up and then clean up the coffee and tea ! ( Easy instructions provided - click here to see what is involved!)
Participation gives you and your group an opportunity to serve the Lord and is greatly appreciated by your fellow members.
Please sign up at the Connection Hub this Sunday or contact Robin Spinale, our new Coffee Hour Coordinator at [email protected]!

The TCC Food Pantry, "Loaves & Fishes" offers assistance to those of TCC and the surrounding community who need help with providing for themselves and their family.  If you are in need, or if you know of someone who is in need, please feel free to visit the church office for assistance from the food pantry.  The food pantry is open on Sunday mornings and during regular church office hours.

Donations to the TCC "Loaves & Fishes" Food Pantry are gratefully accepted.  There is a collection bin on a table near the lobby stairwell.  We only accept donations of non-perishable food and personal items.  WE RESPECTFULLY ASK YOU NOT TO DONATE ANY OPEN OR EXPIRED ITEMS - WE JUST HAVE TO THROW THEM AWAY!
