MESSAGE FROM WSCA PRESIDENT, TONY PARKER
|
WSCA President Tony Parker CEC, ACE JANUARY 2014 Greetings Fellow Culinarians and Associates I'd like to first thank all of you for this opportunity you have given me to be your newly elected President of the Washington State Chef's Association. I know that I have a tough journey ahead of me continuing the path laid out by our past president Mark, but with the help of our board, chairpersons, and members I have all the confidence that we will continue to grow our Chapter. We will continue to offer great educational opportunities in the form of hands on seminars for our chapter members and local culinarians. Upcoming Events We have a fantastic seminar coming up on April 12th at Renton Technical College sponsored by the Washington State Beef Commission. It will be an informative seminar with cutting demonstrations, hands on cutting stations and a buffet featuring grilled beef. The seminar is from 9am to 1pm and is free for members and $10.00 for non-members. Our WSCA Presidents Gala is February 10th at the SeaTac Doubletree Hotel. Chef Bruce Frye is creating a dinner that is guaranteed to make it an evening to remember. The dinner is limited and will sell out. Please make sure to go to our meetings page and make your reservations now. Chef Jamie Callison, culinary arts instructor from WSU will be speaking about his new cookbook, Crimson Spoon at the Presidents Awards dinner. During the reception, books will be available to purchase and autograph by Chef Callison. For more information on the Cookbook, click here. Again, I look forward to serving as your president, and continuing the direction set by Mark and the board of directors.
