Introduction to 3D Printing
We've got more basic 3D workshops in January and February. Library director Pat Cirone will introduce you to working with a MakerBot Replicator, Fifth generation on Tuesday, January 6 and Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Midterms Study Session!
Weds., Jan. 21, 1 - 4 PM
Sohier Room Get ready for midterms at the library! Join us in the Sohier Room to study and we'll provide free snacks. There will be a few MacBooks for BHS students, chargers, study supplies like flashcards and highlighters, and some quiet de-stress activities for you to do too. So as long as you're studying for midterms, you CAN sit with us. We hope to see you there!
Pizza and a Movie: "Guardians of the Galaxy"! Weds., Jan. 28, 6:30-8:45 PM, Sohier Room Join us for this adventurous film about a group of intergalactic criminals who are forced to work together to stop a fanatical warrior from taking control of the universe. Free pizza!

The BIG Trip: a Family Gap Year
Author Martha McManamy will visit the Farms Branch on Tuesday, January 13 to discuss her book about her family - including 3 teenagers - who took a year off to travel and volunteer in Bolivia, Guatemala and Kenya. Choosing home stays and local transportation over hotels and rental cars, the family undertook a journey of "slow travel," living simply and experiencing life as the locals do. "We Have a Dream" Saturday, January 17 @ 10:30 AM, Sohier Room
Preschool to grade 5 No registration required Join the Beverly Council on Aging and the Beverly Public Library in continuing the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The program will consist of readings for children and art activities for peace and diversity, including a dream banner and an origami peace crane.
"Musical Mornings with Miz Liz" returns Saturday, January 10 @ 10 AM. For kids 0 - 5 and parents/caregivers.

"Art Cups" by Tony Toledo
This month in the Sohier Room (main library), see an exhibit of 244 unique art cups created by Beverly resident and storyteller Tony Toledo. Tony uses Sharpie markers and his imagination to transform white "to go" coffee cups into tiny curved canvases. Tony encourages inquisitive viewers to pick up any cup and read the information on the bottom. All are welcome to attend Tony's "Artist Reception" on Sunday, January 11, 2015, from 2 to 3:30 PM.
