Dear CSAH community,

As our community grows larger, we are seeing health care workers from a range of sectors and disciplines share their interest in seniors health. We welcome those working at the local, provincial or national level to connect, network and share their knowledge with our community.

With this in mind, CSAH would like to hear more from all of you! Now is your chance to take the platform and tell us what you've been working on. If you would like to be a guest blogger, please contact info@sagelink.ca.

Sincerely,

CSAH staff

Spotlight: Nutrition & Healthy Eating in the New Year

As we age, our nutritional requirements change. Older adults, more so women, are at risk for under-nutrition due to a number of factors that can include increased sedentary lifestyle  and lowered metabolic rate; increased deficiency in key vitamins and minerals; a reduced sense of taste and smell; difficulty chewing or swallowing; a restricted diet for a health condition; eating alone; loss of appetite; medications; chronic conditions or disability affecting ability to cook; and poor oral hygiene.
