Welcome to a new season! The race year is beginning early for me with the IRONMAN 70.3 Pan American Pro Championship in Panama on January 31! I'm refreshed, ready, and looking forward to a strong season with the continued support of my family, friends, and tremendous sponsors.

My sponsor partners ensure that I have the equipment, nutrition, and apparel needed to focus on putting together my best swim, bike, and run. Last year that resulted in podium finishes at 8 of my 9 races including wins at IRONMAN 70.3 St. Croix, IRONMAN 70.3 Ecuador, IRONMAN 70.3 Silverman, Beijing International Tri, Challenge San Gil, and Challenge Florida. I am so appreciative to the wonderful people at Trek, TYR, Hoka One One, SRM, First Endurance, Smith, Beet Performer, Bontrager, ISM, Garmin, Boulder Bicycle Works, and SaltStick for their continued support this year.

I wish each of you a great start to your 2016!

The Things That Are Important
January 6, 2016

If someone had told me on January 1st, 2015 that I would have the year I had in sport then I would have said I would be 100% happy in life. Well, I learned by the end of the year that even after reaching the financial and athletic goals I set for myself I was not completely happy. I was missing something and I still do not really feel complete. [Read more....]

Wando, Clemson grad Lauren Goss prospering as professional triathlete
by David Quick,  December 28, 2015

Lauren Goss didn't even know she had a gift for competing in triathlons until she dated a local amateur during her senior year at Clemson.

Goss, now 27, who graduated from Wando High School in 2006, took the plunge into the financially-challenging world of professional triathlon five years ago and made just $5,000 her first year. This year, her best to date, she said she earned well more than $100,000 and purchased a home in Boulder, Colo.

Of the 11 triathlons this year, she won six, finished second twice and came in fourth once.

The wins included Ironman 70.3 St. Croix in May, Challenge San Gil (a half ironman distance tri) in Mexico in June, Ironman 70.3 Ecuador in August, Beijing International Triathlon in China in September, Ironman 70.3 Silverman in Las Vegas in October and Challenge Florida in November. [

New Year, New You: Working Out
by Lauren Goss
December 18, 2015

Often times I get asked if I have a training group or if I train alone. I recommend to anyone just getting into endurance sport to always try and find a group to train with. During college I always rode with the cycling team until I got dropped. Every week I would go back and try to hang on a little more each time. Eventually, I was able to learn how to stick with them for the entire ride and I also learned some valuable cycling tips. Once you get a little more serious about racing and have individual workouts you have to do then I advise doing those workouts alone. I see athletes who have very specific workouts go too hard because they are trying to keep up with the friends they invited to the session. [Read full article...]
