Greater Prosperity: Bank merger brings 248 banking centers under one entity

Prosperity Bancshares Inc.  (NYSE: PB), the parent company of Prosperity Bank, announced the completion of the merger of Tradition Bancshares Inc. with and into Prosperity and the merger of Tradition's wholly owned subsidiary, Tradition Bank, headquartered in Houston, with and into Prosperity Bank. The transactions became effective Jan. 1, according to  newswire reports .

 
Low oil prices, strong dollar to vex Texas manufacturers in 2016

Less activity in the oil field meant less orders for equipment while a strong dollar made exports more expensive hurting companies with overseas customers.

Nonetheless, the latest  Texas Manufacturing Outlook Survey from the  Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas shows that manufacturers in Texas did better than expected in December.

 
Lockheed Martin wins $1.2B contract for production of F-35s

Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT) has secured orders for 91 of its signature F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighters at a price tag of $1.2 billion.

Bethesda, Maryland-based Lockheed manufactures the jets at its Fort Worth-based Lockheed Martin Aeronautics plan in west Fort Worth.


 
Rock radio makes a big comeback on San Antonio airwaves


A pair of legacy radio stations in San Antonio received some extra special holiday cheer in December. KONO-FM and KISS-FM grabbed the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively in San Antonio's radio ratings battle for the final month of 2015.

According to  Nielsen, KONO-FM, which features a classic hits format, pulled in the largest audience of listeners ages 6 and up last month, scoring an 8.5 rating.
