PUBLIC UTILITIES REMINDER

Sewer bills are based on the average water usage from December, January, and February. Please remember to notify LPU (512) 556-3641 if you have any leaks during that time.
JANUARY EVENTS

January 2: City offices & Lampasas Public Library closed in observance of New Year's Day holiday. Trash services will run their normal schedule.

January 10: "How Pinteresting!" Pinterest 101 from 5-7pm at the Library. This event is free. Sign up by Thursday, January 5th at the library, by phone, email or on Facebook. In this class, they will show you how you can get started pinning and creating boards so you can start working on other crafts/projects.Contact 512-556-3251.

January 11: "Goodnight, Sleep Tight" story time at the Library at 10am. Contact 512-556-3251.

January 14: Books & Badgers story time at 10:30am at the Library. All children are invited. Come meet our high school "celebrity readers," make a craft, and enjoy a snack. This event is free. Contact 512-556-3251.

January 16: City offices & Library closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. Trash service will runs its normal schedule.

January 19: "History of Hancock Springs" with Glynda Carpenter at 3pm at the Library. Glynda Carpenter, author of History of Hancock Springs, will be sharing interesting stories and answering your questions about Lampasas' Hancock Springs. Contact 512-556-3251.

January 21: The Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a Polar Bear swim event on January 21, 2017 at the Hancock Free Flow Swimming pool from 10am-1pm. All proceeds benefit the Christmas on the Creek Program. Registration is $10 without a shirt and $25 with a shirt. There will be a costume contest plus other swim games for the event. Refreshments will be provided. Pre-registration is 12/1/16-1/2/17. Register at the City Administration Building located at 312 E. 3rd Street. Contact Kim Watkins at 512-525-1269.

January 25: "Giraffes" story time at the Library at 10am. Contact 512-556-3251.

January 28: Authors Fest from 10am-2pm at the Library. Come enjoy the day meeting authors representing a variety of genres. They will have their books for sale. Many of them will also be speaking about their books, as well as how they got started writing. Don't miss this opportunity to see a variety of authors all in one place. This event is free. LAMPASAS POLICE DEPARTMENT REMINDER

The Lampasas Police Department would like to encourage citizens and visitors to lock their vehicles and/or remove all valuables to avoid being a victim of theft. Their reported vehicle burglaries have slightly increased during the lasts 6 months. In almost all cases, the vehicles are left unlocked and the thieves take money and small electronic (phones) devices.

Photo-of-the-Month Contest: Enter our photo-of-the-month contest by visiting www.cityoflampasas.com for contest rules and emailing your photo to [email protected] . The City Council will announce the monthly winning photo at the first regular City Council meeting. Winners will receive a City of Lampasas insulated tumbler w/straw and posting of their photo on the web site.

Can You Be Located In An Emergency? The owner of every house or building within the City is required to have a house number placed there on that is readily visible from the public right-of-way on which the structure fronts or faces. The numbers shall be a minimum of three inches in height and contrast with the background on which they are placed, made of material that will not tarnish, corrode or deteriorate unreasonably. Not only will this assist emergency personnel but the US Postal service as well.
