Join for the car.... stay for the friends!
January 2017

I would like to start off by saying thank you to the membership for another successful year. We ended the year with over 150 members for the second year in a row. Looking back over 2016, it started with a record crowd at the Super Bowl Party. We had 59 members and guests who had a great time. At the end of February, we had another first place display in Carl Casper. Thanks to all who participated in it and the time you gave helping us win.

In June we had our annual car show that benefitted the Jefferson County Police Relief Fund. We had a terrific silent/live auction with some very unique items. The food was great and the club participation was amazing! So many of you-new and old members-pitched in to help in so many ways. We changed the trophy presentation to 4 classes which was a big hit with the participants. We received a lot of positive comments on the new format. Thank you to all who helped make this a success!

During the summer the club supported a lot of car shows in town and out. Congrats to all the winners! The monthly Sunday drives were a huge success with the largest turn out being 37 cars and 70 guests. That is fantastic! We had a great turnout at the Gaslight parade this year with 25 Corvettes.

In November we had our annual Thanksgiving dinner. We had 65 people for dinner and as always, the great cooks in the club put on a delicious spread. We were able to donate $1,000 to help a little boy with cancer and that is a wonderful thing. Everyone should feel very proud that our club is so generous and caring.

We ended the year with another fun-filled Christmas party. We tried a new venue this year and received great reviews on the location, the party and the food. We had the largest crowd ever (75 people)-way to go! We booked 23 rooms with members who stayed overnight at the hotel. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and had a good time.

I hope that you enjoy your membership in Falls City Corvette Club and that you will rejoin for 2017 so we can do it all over again. Thank you all for your support and for making us #1 in my book!

Please join us in a weekend of fun with something for everyone. Our weekend will start on Thursday March 16th, meeting at Mile Marker 29 at the rest stop just past Simpsonville off I-64 East at 8:00am. We will be leaving at 8:30am sharp heading towards Gatlinburg TN.

We will be stopping to eat at Cracker Barrel in Corbin KY for breakfast. From there we will continue to make our way into Gatlinburg and check into the hotel (Mountain House Motor Inn) around 2:00 - 3:00 that afternoon.  From there you can enjoy the town or just relax for the afternoon.

On Friday we will be heading to the "Tail of the Dragon" in the morning to enjoy a great day on the "Tail". There are several additional drives available as well from the Gift Shop so feel free to enjoy as you please.

From there Friday is up to whatever you would like. The official Corvette Expo starts Friday at the Sevierville Convention Center in Pigeon Forge. Saturday we will plan on going to the Expo. If interested they have a amazing auction and swap meet, worth taking a stopping in to see.

We plan on cruising, in the cars, up and down the strip a couple times both Friday & Saturday nights. It is a blast and people love it every year.

The overall trip should provide something for everyone.  Shopping, eating, driving a famous road, killer car show and whatever else Gatlinburg TN has to offer.

If interested please let Mike Brown know ASAP. We have 30 rooms blocked, they will go fast, so please call to make you reservations at the following number, 865-436-6626.
