2017 Resolutions
What will you do in the New Year?

"For a community to be whole and healthy, it must be based on people's love and concern for each other." - Millard Fuller

It is that time of year where everyone decides what they will do to better their lives. HFHMV challenges you to make a new kind of resolution - what will you do to better the lives of others?

Below are some ways in which you can join HFHMV in the new year to provide decent, safe, affordable housing to people in your community.
  • Volunteer! There is no better way to directly impact the life of another than by joining HFHMV on the construction site. Sign-up online or call 330-743-7244 x 304.
  • Donate! If construction isn't for you, please consider making a donation. The money you give helps build the homes in your Valley! To learn more about how to donate, please visit our website or call 330-743-7244 x 303.
  • Share the Application! If you know someone living in poor conditions or someone who cannot afford their own home, please share our homeownership application. If they have any questions about completing the application or would like one mailed, please have them call 330-743-7244 x 302.

Farewell to Ceyanne
We wish you the best on your new journey!

Ceyanne Ferenchak joined the HFHMV team a year ago as part of the AmeriCorps National program. She joined as a Construction Crew Leader who played a key role in the construction and remodeling of the homes HFHMV has built. More importantly, Ceyanne has made a lasting impact on the volunteers, family and staff she worked alongside and taught on the construction site.

Before joining the HFHMV team, Ceyanne began her AmeriCorps experience with NCCC. Unlike the National program where a member works with a particular Habitat affiliate, NCCC sends members across the country to work on various projects. Not only was it an opportunity for her to see the country, but she was able to learn, grow and become a leader. Today, Ceyanne is seeking a position in the non-profit sector while she begins her collegiate career at Youngstown State University.

Ceyanne's energy and kind heart will be missed - but we hope she will visit us soon!

Austintown Dedication
In Case You Missed It...

In case you missed the dedication of the Lake Road home in Austintown, the ceremony was recorded live and saved to the HFHMV Facebook page! Tamesha gave a heartfelt speech recognizing the people in her life that helped make her dream of homeownership a reality. While mentioning family and friends, Tamesha also mentioned the volunteers and staff that are now part of her 'Habitat Family'.

Those who spoke of Tamesha during the dedication could not help but mention the calm, generous nature she brought to the worksite. Nor could they forget to mention her work ethic. She was able to relate to any who came on site to build, and she never forgot to thank them.

Tamesha - welcome to your new home, a new year, and many new and happy memories!

Become a Sign-A-Stud Sponsor
Be a part of a home without even swinging a hammer!

The Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors (YCAR) has been raising funds to build a house with Habitat for the past 10 months. The newest fundraiser is a Sign-A-Stud event. Anyone can purchase "a stud", decorate it in any way and then that stud(s) will be used in building the house. The messages and warm wishes designed on the studs will forever be a part of the home.

Although a family is still being selected, we know the house will be located in Boardman and we will probably start building mid/late Summer 2017. We will be keeping everyone up-to-date on progress so keep reading the newsletters for details.

To purchase a stud please contact Kristina at resources@habitatmahoning.org or give her a call at 330-743-7244 x303.

This is a terrific way to get involved!
