JANUARY notes and news
May I firstly begin by wishing you all a Happy New Year, and by thanking you for your continued support and interest in our winery and wines. Every time we conduct a sampling or public event it never ceases to amaze me the depth of knowledge our tasters possess, when it comes to the interest and knowledge of our winery and in South Africa in general. It's very strong here in North Carolina.
Our public events enable us to engage with you, and of course allow you to taste our wines and learn about the long and interesting story and heritage of wine making in the Western Cape of South Africa. There are over 540 producers of wine in our region and we are excited to be one of a few that have their wines available in this great state.
With 2017 in the history books we are ringing in another 'New Year' and with it, several new clients. Signed up in December are Cowboy Brazilian Steakhouse, Fourth Street Filling Station, West End Cafe, a/perture Cinema and Fourth & Trade in Winston-Salem, On Tap Crafty Beer & Wine in Mooresville, Crafted - The Art of the Taco in Greensboro, Glenwood Grill in Raleigh, Dead Mule's Club in Chapel Hill, and we are pleased to be listed again at Winston-Salem Wine Market.
As always please take a look at our regularly updated list of clients in order to find our wines.

BLACK OYSTERCATCHER ARRIVES IN THE USA
Black Oystercatchers are fascinating little birds that roam around on the Cape Agulhas beaches located at the Southern most tip of Africa. The long red beaked birds partner for life, and they dig for mussels and limpets. The winery is so named because of its proximity to the coastline and the presence of these little birds.
Located in the Moravian village of Elim, Black Oystercatcher Winery produces cool climate wines that differ in taste and style from our own, so we wanted to introduce them to the U.S market, and in particular to our customers in North Carolina. So look out for them on the shelves of retailers and on wine lists soon.

If you're interested in taking a trip to Africa you would be well advised to get in touch with Clint Saint, from Live Life Safari's. Now for several years he's made it his vocation in life to introduce people to the continent. He resides in Winston-Salem with his wife Lisa and would love to impart advice and help you arrange your trip to Africa. He can be reached at 336.782.7084 or via his website:

We are very excited to have several of our wines placed at the wonderful Glenwood Grill, in Raleigh. Headed up by Chef Johnny, this little gem of a restaurant serves up fresh dishes every day.
