Channels to Trade

GLOBAL ACCESS PROGRAM
The Pennsylvania Global Access Program (GAP) is designed to enhance the capacity of small to mid-sized Pennsylvania companies to increase export sales. The GAP is funded in part through a grant with the US Small Business Administration (SBA).
 
A Pennsylvania company that meets SBA criteria can qualify and be awarded a GAP grant in the amount of up to $5,000. The company will be reimbursed 75% of eligible expenses associated with specific export promotion activities taken before September 2018.
 
GAP qualified activities include: Overseas Trade Mission Participation, Overseas Trade Show Participation, Approved Domestic Trade Show Participation, Foreign Market Sales Trips and Subscription to U.S. Department of Commerce services.
 
Eligible Expenses are restricted to the following: Lodging (based on Federal Per Diem Limits), Ground Transportation, Parking Fees, Translation / Interpreter Fees, Website Internationalizations, Search Engine Optimization, Localization Services, Shipping Cost of Samples, Compliance Testing, Trade Mission / Trade Show Fees, and U.S. Department of Commerce Services.
 
Ineligible Expenses include, but are not limited to: Air Fare & Baggage Fees, Meals, Compensation, Consultant Fees / Service Provider Fees, Alcoholic Beverages, Hotel Amenities, Phone and Internet Usage, Phone Cards, Capital Goods / Samples, Passport / Visa Fees, Immunization, Entertainment, New Product Development.

VIETNAM - THE PHILIPPINES TRADE MISSION
April 9 - 14, 2018
 Pennsylvania's Office of International Business Development is organizing the trade mission to Vietnam & the Philippines, two of the world's rapidly growing economies.
 
This trade mission will support 10 Pennsylvania companies with face-to face meetings and logistics.
 
The delegation will stop in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Manila, Philippines.
 
The participation fee is $600.00. Deadline to register is January 27, 2018.
SOUTH AFRICA & TANZANIA TRADE MISSION
 June 1 - 9, 2018
Pennsylvania's trade partner, the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers, is organizing the trade mission to South Africa and Tanzania, African markets with large growing economies.
 
The delegation will make stops in Johannesburg and Pretoria, South Africa and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
 
The participation fee is US $1,350.00. Registing early in 2018 will secure your spot.
COLOMBIA, CHILE, PERU TRADE MISSION              
 April 16 -27, 2018           
This trade mission is organized to assist companies in Appalachia USA expand their international sales to Colombia, Chile and Peru in these key South America mining countries

 

The delegation will make stops in Bogota, Colombia; Santiago, Chile and Lima, Peru. 

 

This Trade Mission is being organized by Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission. 

AUSTRALIA FOOD & BEVERAGE INITIATIVE
The U.S. Foreign Agricultural Service and the Western U.S. Agricultural Trade Association are providing assistance to U.S. food and beverage companies to help them enter this lucrative market.
 
Australia imports around 85% of their food products, and American food and beverage products are prized for the innovation and quality.
 
Northeastern Pennsylvania food or beverage manufacturers interested in expanding their sales to Australia can call NEPA for information on this initiative.

" Channels to Trade" emphasizes NEPA and other International Trade Services made possible by funding from the  Appalachian Regional Commission and the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development's  Office of International Business Development and through funding for the Partnerships for Regional Economic Performance and Local Development Districts.

The NEPA International Trade Program works in cooperation with the OIBD and the Commonwealth's Authorized Trade Representatives to provide a global approach to export assistance.
