January 2018
Happy New Year!
Amy Greene
Amy Greene, Board Chair
I am excited, honored and truly humbled to begin my tenure as Board Chair of ACPE. Though it is a tumultuous time in our organization's history, I believe it is also one of the most exciting, as we work to maintain and strengthen our role as the premiere professional organization training educators for spiritual care in a complex world. I have many hopes and dreams for our future and I'm excited about the chance to help lead this august group. But I must first give a word of thanks to my predecessor (and our last President), Carlos Bell.

Over the years, I have found the reading of the Psalms to be an important and even significant source for the nourishment of my faith, especially in my moments of doubt and hopelessness. Often they give voice to the prayers that are deep in my soul but for which I am unable to find words. Not long ago, I was struck how many times the word YET appears throughout the Psalms, particularly in the lament Psalms. To summarily paraphrase its use: "I am deep in despair and have gone down to the Pit to be among the dead, YET the Holy One has given me life, therefore will I live and give praise."

Onward & Upward for ACPE Giving!
George Grant, PhD, Annual Campaign Chair
Would you believe it? 2017 saw another record year in giving! Year-end gifts are still trickling in, but we estimate raising over
$103,000 in individual gifts from over 350 ACPE members & friends, plus another $211,000 in grants, totaling $314,000 in 2017 funding support! Because of you, we continue to increase our overall giving participation. This means that we can do even more to expand CPE into new settings and offer spiritual care to those in life's most vulnerable moments. Thank you!

You can make a significant gift to ACPE that costs you nothing now, and will keep on giving for years to come. Your gift can also memorialize a loved one. Here's how:
