GOOD NEWS
The call to the Master is the same today as it was when the candidates petitioned in droves: to create an atmosphere for intellectual and spiritual growth so that the members know from experience they are missing something by not attending lodge . Part of that something is "Good News". What is your good news, maybe it's something good that happened to your family or a close friend.   Maybe it is something you learned recently which really changed or improved your life, we would like to hear about it. Bring your good news with you when you come to Lodge. If you have good news, share it with us, we all want to hear about it. If it was a great experience for you, write us and we'll publish it in the next Trestleboard. Bring you stories to the lodge and share it with the brothers.  CLICK HERE TO SEND US YOUR GOOD NEWS!!!!

Happy New Year my Brothers!

Welcome to 2018. This year the lodge will be trying a lot of new
things. The Trestleboard format and mailing is all new. The lodge
officers agreed that this format would be a better tool to reach
our members. This newsletter format also allows us to give a
benefit to advertisers who will have a choice of having a link
to their website or email, whichever they prefer. Contact Derl,
lodge secretary, if interested.

The 2018 line of officers have had meetings to discuss ways of
encouraging members to come to lodge meetings. A lot of great
ideas are out there and we will be trying many of them.

If we have your phone number, one of the officers will contact you.
We will be doing reminder calls a day or two before each meeting or
event. The message will be short to let you will know the when, what,
and who of the next meeting. The 2018 officer team wants to make
sure that the meetings are interesting and at times, fun.

2018 will be a great year for Phoenix lodge!

Your Brother,
James Duffy, WM Phoenix 2018
From The West
My Brothers,
January starts a new Masonic year and a new beginning. First let me offer my thanks. I am most grateful for your confidence in allowing me to be your Senior Warden for 2018. Under W:. Jim Duffy's leadership, Phoenix Lodge #346 has a number of great things in store to achieve our goals of retaining members, revitalizing attendance and increasing new membership this year.
Let us all remember this year, the reasons why we became Masons. In a millennium of ever-increasing demands for our time, we reflect on just how much of a “Safe Haven” the Lodge is, for our hearts and minds. We can come to Lodge and leave the pressures of the day – the week – the month behind, and in the company of truly caring Brothers, share fellowship and camaraderie with men of like mind. The impersonal world is desperate for some sort of relief, kindness, and true friendship, such as we enjoy.
There are other men of great moral character out there, many of whom you know, who are missing the quality of life we possess, and yearn for what we have to offer. We can help, direct, and teach them what it means to be a Mason, and instill in them, the principles we share - of Kindness, Morality, Decency and Friendship. These qualities are exactly what their lives need, to become better men, coworkers, bosses, husbands and fathers.
Let us all bring each of them to the Fellowship, Every Meeting. Invite them to supper with us. Introduce them to the Craft. Let them know that we care. They will see and feel, that Masonry offers them... the missing piece of a good life.
Remember: “Whenever two or more of you are gathered in My name – I am there also”. The Great Architect of the Universe will bless their lives richly...as we have been blessed.
Tom Davie, Senior Warden
From the South
My Brothers,
As we start this new year I want to take the opportunity to thank you for your confidence in me. The line for the lodge going forward looks very strong indeed, and we owe it to you. Without your support and mentoring none of us could be here. I look forward to assisting Worshipful Duffy, and Senior Warden Davie with the many new ideas brought forth by the town hall last year.
I would like to challenge each of you this year to find the spark within yourselves that brought you to masonry. As a Lodge and as brothers we should always be working to fan the flames of brotherhood and comradery within everyone we come across. In that vein I would like to invite each and everyone of you to sign up for BAND and join Mason Fellowship Night. It is an app for your phone, from it you can receive notifications for future events, address, times, and a who’s who of attendees. These events are open to families and friends. I promise you all the events we had, though small, were fun for all who attended.
I encourage each of you to put January 20 th  2018 on your calendars, The Masonic Fellowship group will be helping Wreaths Across America clean up the National cemetery at 8 a.m. It’s a great way to give back to our community and honor our veterans.
I look forward to serving you this year I know my brothers it will be one of the best years Phoenix lodge has had!

FROM THE "LIGHT(ER)" SIDE

Have you heard of the Lodge that was holding its meetings in the ball room of the local hotel while its building was undergoing renovations? One night a traveling salesman asked the desk clerk who all those men going into the room were. The desk clerk replied "Oh, those are the Masons." The salesman said, Oh, I've always wanted to join that lodge. Do you think they would let me in?" "Oh, no," said the clerk. "They're awful exclusive. Why, you see that poor guy standing outside the door with a sword? He's been knocking for six months and they still won't let him in!!!"

Get Your Carrabba's Tickets - Available Now
We are once again holding one of our best fund raising events of the year at Carrabba's. The date is April 28th, 2018. Let's sell it out this year. Also, as in years past, we will need volunteers to help serve our guests.

How about we have a contest as to who can sell the most tickets. Any ideas? Maybe we can set up two or three teams? What should the prize be?
