From the Community Lay Director.......
I hope your Christmas season has been filled with family and the joy of celebrating our Savior’s birth. My joy over that birth has long been somewhat tempered by the awareness of my role in a Savior being needed in the first place.

I did not get my lights hung outside until pretty late this year. Going on vacation at the end of November really throws Christmas timing off. So if you still see Christmas lights up on Groundhog Day, that might be my house.

Do you have a favorite Christmas song or hymn? Mine is The Little Drummer Boy. I’ll tell you why at our next Gathering on January 5, 2018.

2018 Priorities
Even though it is December as I write this, I have been thinking about New Year’s Resolutions.   Because there are things I look forward to in the year ahead, I am making those things I value a priority on my new 2018 calendar.  Because I am blessed each time I attend a Community Gathering, Candlelight, or serve on a team for a Walk or Flight, I have put those events on my calendar and drawn a footprint or butterfly on those days as a visual reminder of the joy that is found in participating those events.  Because I want to spend time deepening my relationship with God I am placing my favorite devotion books and Bible by my bedside. Each morning and evening I will be reminded that experiencing growth will come from my commitment to the disciplines of piety, study and action.

Okay, I guess it is pretty obvious that the Emmaus talks I have heard, and the beloved friendships I have formed, have had a MAJOR impact on my life.  Every day of 2018 is a Fourth Day and I want to carry that three legged stool with me!  I want the Holy Spirit to fill my heart and I want to see the light of Christ shine in the faces of those I love!  May your list of 2018 resolutions, action plans, good books, and your calendar, be filled with events, gatherings and commitments that fill your life with great joy.   DE COLORES!!!
