Governor Cuomo releases 2021/2022 proposed State Budget - maintaining funding for Business Incubators and Hotspots
The Governor presented his proposed budget today. A number of our members who rely on State funding to support their programming for startup companies in their region were concerned about potential cuts in programs just when they are needed most.

Venture For ClimateTech is a new global non-profit venture studio + accelerator providing innovators with non-dilutive funding, as well as the tools, training, and talent to launch a company around their impactful climate tech solution. NASAL DROP COVID-19 HUMAN TRIALS TO BE STARTED BY COMPANY INCUBATED AT BROADHOLLOW SCIENCE CENTER
Long Island-based Codagenix has announced that it has been given the approval to start the phase 1 testing, with 48 volunteers from first week of January.
Its COVI-VAC has already “shown to be safe and efficacious in preclinical animal studies” — and “may induce a more robust immune response and long-lasting cellular immunity” than other vaccines, the company claimed.

Over the course of the two-year program, the fellows will receive:

· Up to $100,000 total support for their R&D efforts;
· Technical mentorship under the direction of world-renowned battery research leaders, including the Nobel laureate inventor of the Li-ion battery M. Stanley Whittingham;
· Entrepreneurship training and startup support.

Seeking carbontech startups for the 2021 cohort! Startups with technology and business model innovations in carbon capture, utilization, or sequestration are encouraged to apply. Participating startups will work closely with the Carbontech Leadership Council to access resources and the market insights necessary to enable rapid commercialization of their carbontech innovation.
