Please Vote on the Top 25 "Must See" Structures in Indiana by January 15

USA Today wants AIA Indiana's input on the top 25 "must see" structures in Indiana. This will be part of a special travel project USA Today is doing in 2017 to feature some of the best architecture visitors should see throughout the US. It will feature 25 places in every state.

We need your help to compile the list of the top 25 structures in Indiana that visitors should see.

Please send an email to: TopBuildingsInIndiana@gmail.com  and tell us:
  • FIVE structures that visitors need to see
  • Include the city where it's located
  • Include the name of the architect (if you know)
  • In a sentence or two, tell us why a visitor would be interested
  • If you have a photo of any of the structures you are nominating, please attach those, too.
The deadline to vote is 5 p.m., January 15.

This is a great opportunity to get FREE recognition for Indiana, its architecture and architects.

Nominations Sought for State's Top Restoration Project

Indiana Landmarks seeks nominations for the annual Cook Cup for Outstanding Restoration.

The prize, a large silver cup, goes to the owner of a historic structure that has been restored following the highest standards in method, materials and design. Eligible owners include individuals, companies, nonprofit organizations, institutions and government entities. Anyone may submit a nomination-the owner, architect, engineer, contractor, neighbor, appreciative citizen.

The restoration must have been completed within the past two years, and the structure must be in active use. The selection committee looks for a restoration that has had a significant, beneficial impact on its neighborhood or community.

Indiana Landmarks inaugurated the Cook Cup for Outstanding Restoration in 2007, when the prize went to the award's namesake family in honor of its transformation of the West Baden and French Lick Springs hotels in southern Indiana. Previous winners have included Butler University for the renovation of Hinkle Fieldhouse, the City of Elkhart for the Lerner Theatre restoration, and the late Richard Ford for the Charley Creek Inn, a hotel in Wabash.

The Cook Cup winner will receive an engraved silver cup on April 29, at Indiana Landmarks' annual Rescue Party in Indianapolis.
