Caring Network is excited to be offering an expanded series of classes for pregnant and/or parenting women and teens, calling it Caring Network's Mama Academy! Julie Davis (shown during a class in the photo above) is certified childbirth instructor. She teaches the agency's Childbirth Preparation and Parenting class for Teen mothers and fathers (CPPT). She willl continue to teach CPPT and offer additional classes every Wednesday and Thursday for mothers of all ages as part of our 2016 Mama Academy.
"It's exciting to expand class offerings, making women feel supported and empowered in their role of motherhood," says Davis.
Mama Academy will offer a four week class called Childbirth Basics for all, and every Wednesday, moms can attend a "Making the Most of Motherhood" class that focuses on a variety of topics, including: healthy habits, dealing with stressors, breastfeeding benefits and challenges and a special session for teen moms called "teen talk." Davis says the information will be presented in a forum that is informal and encourages participation. The father of the baby or partner is encouraged to attend as well.
All of the classes are free to participants and women are encouraged to attend any class they find interesting or informative! "It's also a terrific way to connect with other mothers who are interested in learning more about caring for yourself and baby!"
