Making Early Education a National Priority Budget kids
A new session of Congress is underway in Washington. Here in California, legislators are now considering Governor Brown's 2015-16 budget proposal. As voters, we can begin educating ourselves now on the issues our elected officials will be considering this year.

Research shows that almost two-thirds of children ages 3 to 6 attend school, but more than half of 3- and 4-year-olds are not enrolled in preschool. Significant ethnic, racial and socioeconomic gaps continue to exist in preschool enrollment rates.

Despite a bipartisan consensus on the importance of early education, most states have a long way to go toward implementing quality early education programs and enrolling more young children. Click here to learn more.
