A Tasty Treat
On Saturday, January 28th, Child's Voice hosted a Book Tasting for families.Students and their families gathered together to learn about new genres of books, find new ways to incorporate reading at home and enjoy some wonderful storytelling.

"Reading and literacy is a vehicle through which children and families can travel the world together," shared Dr. Michele Wilkins, Child's Voice Executive Director.  "Adding this event, allows us to engage our families and showcase the many varieties of books for them to enjoy." Parent Resources
Institute for Parents of Preschool Children Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing - June 11-16, 2017
The Institute is a one-week program for parents of children (0-5 years old) with hearing loss. Held at the Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville, Illinois, this offers an opportunity to learn about hearing loss, support your child will need and resources available to families. The Importance of Talk, Talk, Talk!
All our current and alumni families know that Child's Voice staff will tell you one of the most important things you can do for your child is talk to them! Talk aobut everything! How you're making dinner, what you see in the grocery store, what you see in your environment, etc.  This article has some great suggestions to increase your child's vocabulary through... you guessed it, talk!

At the Eric Litwin performance, Barnes & Noble Oak Brook will be offering his books for sale. MED-EL Mingle - Multiple Events
Our friends at MED-EL are hosting five open houses for individuals to learn about cochlear implant equipment, troubleshooting and rehab resources as well as connect with other families. At Child's Voice Wood Dale on February 1st, April 5th and June 7th. At Child's Voice Chicago on March 1st and May 3rd. Click here  for more details. 

Parent Advocacy Training
