Our new Creative Writing club for 'tweens and teens begins this month on the 12th at 4:00 p.m.  Bring your pencils and paper and be prepared for some creative writing fun!

Techscape is our new monthly technology club for 'tweens and teens.  Each month, we will explore a different technology topic or skill. January's topic is Coding.  We will spend the hour learning some basic logic and coding skills.  You can explore some coding resources on your own at code.org/learn.

No two people are just alike (not even identical twins!), and no two snowflakes are exactly alike. However, there are 35 categories of snowflakes and 8 types of formations. Did you know it takes 100,000 droplets to form one snowflake? Come learn about snowflakes and make your own.

Civic Arts League Exhibit
"Winter Wonderland" 
Pictured here is Cynthia Pennington, Art Director, with her watercolor painting titled, "Holy Night." 
"Winter Wonderland" is the theme of the current Civic Arts League exhibit at Collegedale Public Library. Sharing either holiday or winter-related subject matter, this exhibit celebrates the winter season and associated festivals with beautiful paintings and mixed media pieces by area artists.  Drop by the Library and enjoy this wintry exhibit through January 2018.

The 2018 regional Geo Bee for home school students in grades 5-8 will be held on January 22 at 1:00 at Collegedale City Hall's West Room. A make up day will be held the following Monday at the same time and location. Calling all knitters, crocheters, and other yarn artists! Come join us for a program for all yarn crafters. We'll be sharing our past and current projects, information on our favorite materials and suppliers, and favorite pattern sources. This program is open to all ages and abilities (including wannabe yarn geeks!). So bring your questions, comments, and current WIP (work in progress). This group meets every other Saturday, so mark your calendars.
