New classes and workshops are beginning in January at the Art Museum. These include a new series of four textile workshops running through March. Everything Is Fine by Purdy Eaton | Through Feb. 26 | The exhibit explores the once great and still beloved American landscape and the re-imagined freedom of the open road. Eaton is a Lafayette native who has exhibited throughout the United States and in Europe.
 
On the Shoulders of Ancestors: The Art of Willis Bing Davis | Through Feb. 26 | This is a collaborative exhibit between the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette and the Haan Museum of Indiana Art with each featuring works by the same artist. Davis is an educator, curator and artist whose work can be found in public and private collections in the United States, England, China, Japan, France, Australia and Africa.

Art of the Endowment | Through June 4 | This exhibit focuses on the power of endowment and features permanent collection works purchased by the Art Museum with funds provided by the Connie F. and Richard E. Grace Endowment Fund.

Tickets for the Art Museum's eighth annual Heart of Art fundraiser now are on sale. The Feb. 10 event at Lafayette Country Club will feature wines chosen by Anthony Cawdron paired with plates created by the County Club's chef, a silent auction and a live auction. Friday Night Live!
Friday Night Live resumes Jan. 27 with "Songs With a Twist." The program features Andrew Baker, a songwriter, singer and guitarist, teaming up with a guest violinist. The event runs from 7-8 p.m. And it's free, thanks to sponsors Jim and Sandy Bodenmiller and Purdue Federal Credit Union.

Art for Sale
The Art Museum is selling original art to the public. The works for sale have been gifted to the museum over the past decade but were not included in the permanent collection. Works for sale are from a variety of media, including painting, etching and watercolor. Proceeds benefit the museum's permanent collection. The fourth and final round of the sale runs through Feb. 12. 


   ART LEAGUE
Purdy Eaton, who currently is exhibiting at the Art Museum, will speak at an Art League luncheon. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 10 in the Shook Gallery.  

   MEMBERS ONLY
2nd Century Club members, who contribute $1,000 or more annually to the Art Museum, are invited to an annual private behind-the-scenes art tour to another location; a club members-onl y annual dinner; private champagne exhibition previews and meetings with the artists; priority invitations to Art Museum special events and tours.

All Art Museum members  always get a 10% discount on studio art classes and purchases from the Museum Shop and the Columbian Park Zoo Gift Shop.

Friend level and above members receive free admission and museum shop discounts at over 1,000 museum through automatic membership in North American Reciprocal Museums (NARM) and the Reciprocal Organization of Associated Museums (ROAM)
