October 11-14, 2017
Grand Rapids, MI

Success in the churning nursery industry takes more than production knowledge. It also takes business savvy and solid understanding of environmental costs and benefits. Connect at the IPPS Eastern Region "Keep It Green" Conference for great talks by leading growers and business professionals. Catch up with the bright lights of public gardens, horticulture academia and the nursery industry on tours to: Chris Hansen's private garden, Meijer Gardens' Japanese Garden, Midwest Groundcovers, Blue Horizon Nursery, Spring Meadow Nursery, Walters Gardens & Hortech.

What Grows Where?

The Biota of North America Program (BONAP) provides in-depth information on the entire vascular flora of the continent north of Mexico.  Their Taxonomic Data Center features scores of unique search & sort capabilities plus a database page that incorporates Google Maps technology.  The North American Plant Atlas shows state/county level distribution maps of all vascular plant taxa and includes data on soil types, climate and temperature zones. The density gradient maps alone are fascinating. You may even be able to assist with the effort!  Check it out HERE.
