Happy New Year!!!
Happy New Year!

When I signed up to be Chapter President I thought it would be a piece of cake.  I mean all my predecessors made it look so easy and I would get a chance to implement some of my ideas.

Boy was I mistaken - it is not easy at all!  It's a heck of a lot of work!

You see, I want you, our ASID members to have a valuable experience that would enhance your careers and businesses.  I tasked my board with creating that experience and I think they did it.  There is only one part missing- YOU!

I've been in business a few short years, but when I started I knew right away that I needed three important things.
  1. A rock-solid contract that spelled out everything so my client and myself would have no misunderstandings (and I would be paid for my expertise).
  2. A stellar process in place for my design presentations that would blow away my clients and instantly sell my concepts.
  3. Close relationships with sales representatives so I would have a great support team to make me look really smart in the eyes of my client.
That brings me back to your member experience and the questions I get asked often from other designers- How do you (write your contracts, do your renderings, know so much about product)?  And believe me, when I started out, it wasn't easy to figure all this stuff out and I had a lot of trials and errors.

So here it is 2016, a New Year and a new chance for you to use your ASID membership to take your business to the next level with all the events we have planned for you.  Oh wait, you don't go to the events?  Yup, that's right I notice that you aren't there.

Why not?

Why not take advantage of the Hand Rendering class on January 24th?

Why not learn more about the ANDYZ Awards and how you can add "Award Winning" in your bio on January 24th and be a part of the contest at Summer Market.

Why not be one of the featured designers in the "Date with a Designer" day?

Why not create those valuable relationships with sales reps at Monark and Pace Supply in March and July?

Why not learn about the new billing paradigm facing designers and get a contract template from a leader in business consultations for Interior Designers?

I am making it easy for you- all you have to do is sign up and join us.

Will I see you at all the events this year?  I hope so.
