This workshop is in accordance with Archdiocesan policy and invites teens to explore the many dimensions of safety needed as employees and volunteers in our parishes and schools. First Communion Families
The Candle Mass for all children preparing to make their First Communion is scheduled for 6pm, Saturday, January 27th. At this Mass, children preparing for First Communion will receive a First Eucharist candle in remembrance of this special year. A parent meeting regarding the First Eucharist Program is scheduled for Monday, January 29th at 6:40 pm and Tuesday, January 30th at 4:25 pm in the Canfield Center. All of the paperwork for First Communion will be distributed at this meeting.  It is important for parents to attend one of these sessions. Babysitting will be available for younger siblings, but you must call 885-7022 to reserve a spot.

Parents
We are beginning a new session of Chosen for Adults on Thursday mornings from 9:15 - 10:45 am starting January 11, 2018.  We would like every parent of a Confirmation candidate to experience this excellent formation. For more information or to sign up please contact Anne Graves at 885-8855 or  agraves@stpaulonthelake.org.

On Wednesday evenings beginning January 10 we will be starting "Symbolon" for those wanting to learn more about Church teaching and "Unbound" for those seeking inner healing and freedom.  Both of the Wednesday programs include dinner.  See the flyer below for more information.

Seventh and Eighth Grade Families
If you are missing or in need of Confirmation forms please visit the St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church website.  Click here for January Works of Mercy and Service Opportunities.

Vocations Mass for all R. E. Families
A special Vocations mass will be held on Monday January 22nd at 6:40 p.m. and Tuesday, January 23rd at 4:25 pm.  We invite parents to join us for this beautiful mass which will include a special speaker.  Please drop your children to their classrooms at the usual time and they will head over to church with their classes.  Parents can go directly to the church after drop off. Beginning with this mass, families will be invited to take home our "Vocations Chalice" for a two week period.  Information to sign up will be available at the mass or you can call the RE office at 885-7022 to put your name on the list.

Adoration
Please consider bringing your whole family but especially your junior high children to "Encounter" - an hour of Eucharistic Adoration with beautiful praise and worship music and a great speaker.  The opportunity for individual confessions or individual prayer is also available.  "Encounter" is held once a month after the 6:00pm mass.  If you cannot stay the whole time, no problem. Come for as long as you are comfortable. The next one is scheduled for Sunday, January 21st from 7:15 - 8:15 pm.

Snow Closing Policy
If it is necessary to cancel classes, we will send out an e-mail or your child's catechist will make every effort to reach you by phone. Feel free to call our office if you are in doubt. We do not necessarily follow the Grosse Pointe Schools' decisions regarding closing because our classes start so much later in the day. Very often the snow has cleared by the time our classes are scheduled to begin.
