GREETINGS FROM OUR FOUNDER

Happy 2018! We made it through our first holiday season in our San Gabriel Valley Residential Program! Given that our program runs 24/7, you can imagine that during the holiday season, things can get a little challenging with staffing. Not to mention fighting all the illnesses which have been going around! But the biggest challenge during the holiday season is for our survivors. It can be a dark and sad time to go through the holidays as a survivor in a program. When the culture around us places such an emphasis on being surrounded by family and community during the holidays, it can be a depressing reminder for
those who lack this in their life. But we are so thankful that our resident was able to experience a different kind of Love this season!

Speaking of our resident, she has just reached the 2 month mark in our program which is a huge accomplishment! She has been busy working through school and more importantly through therapy, trying to find a new normal and establishing a sense of safety. These two months have not been without some challenges as well. We ask that you continue to pray for her as she presses on to overcome various things.

We've intentionally withheld from adding more girls into the program as we are all still "learning the ropes" but it looks like we will be possibly adding our second resident by the middle of this month. Please pray for all the details surrounding this young lady's situation to fall into place!

We are excited about what 2018 holds and we want you to know that we couldn't be doing this work without your help and support! Thank you for all of your praying, giving and advocating which made 2017 an incredible year. We are in hopeful anticipation to see what God will continue to do this year through each of you as we press on in the San Gabriel Valley and explore new opportunities in Orange County!

Serving with you,

Charlene Heydorn, Founder & CEO
