Legislation News

PACE legislation encourages energy efficient upgrades
Commissioner Diaz sponsored legislation to make the Property Assessment Clean
Energy (PACE) program available to property owners in unincorporated Miami-Dade County. PACE is a voluntary program available in many cities across the nation that provides municipal government financing to participating home owners for energy efficiency upgrades or renewable energy installations such as solar panels and improved insulation. Homeowners are then assessed annually through their property tax bills for the improvements. Incorporated areas will also be able to take advantage of the PACE program through interlocal agreements with Miami-Dade County.

Ban of Drones near County Airports
Commissioner Diaz's legislation on prohibiting the operation of unmanned aircrafts systems (UAS) above any County airport or within one mile of a County runway passed at the BCC January 20 meeting.
