Frankfort, Kentucky, April 23, 2015:  Rita Dotson, Mayor, City of Benton, announced her decision to endorse Jean-Marie Lawson Spann in her campaign to become the next Commissioner of Agriculture for the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  

 

Jean-Marie announced her candidacy in June of last year and has received endorsements from Governor Steve Beshear, Lt. Governor Crit Luallen, former Governors, Commissioners of Agriculture, present & former Members of Congress, present & former State Constitutional Officers, State Senators, State Representatives, Organized Labor, Farmers and other political and business leaders across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  The addition of Mayor Rita Dotson to the list of Kentucky Leaders who have endorsed Jean-Marie further solidifies her position as the leading candidate in the election.

Jean-Marie has over 18 years experience in Kentucky Agriculture, including agribusiness, farming, education, politics, media, marketing, import/export and public/private partnerships plus a proven track record of bringing people together toward a common goal.  She was a two-term State President of the Kentucky Young Democrats and has hosted the Jean-Marie Ag Show for ten years, a radio program that focuses on educating listeners on agricultural issues.
