Jeanne Robertson is an overnight success nearly half a century in the making. She keeps audiences rolling on the floor with laughter, which consistently keeps her at the top of the game.
At 68 years young, this former Miss North Carolina stands tall at six-foot-two and has a personality, heart and sense of humor just as soaring. For years, her witty speeches were mostly limited to conventions and meetings. But with the dawn of the digital age, the world became exposed to Robertson's infectious humor and before long she went viral. Now with six nationally released DVDs, three books, hundreds of hours on Sirius-XM satellite radio and over 13 million YouTube hits, the demand for Robertson's family-friendly and engaging brand of comedy has grown exponentially.

December 11 ▪ 12:30pm
Sensational in the 2004 Met premiere of Stephen Wadsworth's much-heralded production, Renée Fleming reprises the title role. She's joined by Stephanie Blythe and countertenor Andreas Scholl, and Baroque specialist Harry Bicket conducts. Handel, the most successful composer of the first half of the 18th century, wrote many of his operas in London. He wrote Rodelinda in 1725, the year after the triumphant success of Giulio Cesare. Based distantly on a play by Corneille, it tells the story of the Queen Rodelinda in seventh century Lombardy, whose throne has been usurped and whose husband has been forced to flee Milan. But he returns in disguise, having spread the rumor that he has died. The production played to great critical and popular acclaim when it opened in 2004. Tickets include a pre-show lecture presented by Ash Lawn Opera featuring: Michelle Krisel Dec. 11 / Rodelinda / 11:45 am-12:15pm |

For many families, holiday traditions would not be complete without hearing the Oratorio Society of Virginia's nearly 100 voices resound with seasonal music. This year's featured work with special brass ensemble will be the joyous Gloria by England's preeminent choral composer John Rutter (who was commissioned to write a new anthem for the recent royal wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton). Guest conductor Michael Slon also will lead the chorus - and sometimes the audience - in an array of favorite tributes to the Christmas season designed to put the whole family in a festive holiday spirit.
