Jen Starr is a Mixed Media Artist with a fine art background who has been in the craft industry as a designer and instructor for over 11 years. She is the first certified educator for Viva D�cor USA, the Creative Director for Art Anthology, and a fully Certified and Ranger Recognized Instructor. Many products inspire Jen, and she is an endorsed educator for or has worked closely with many of their manufacturers, including Ranger, Ten Second Studio, Viva D�cor, Canvas Corp, Tattered Angels, Stampers Anonymous, Faber Castell, Basic Grey and Prima. Jen has designed several signature product lines and her projects have been featured in many publications in the US and Europe including the "Ink Essentials" book.
Empowering students with product knowledge and creative techniques is what Jen strives for in each of her classes! She has taught technique-based classes at stores, crops, large events and conventions all over the US and regularly in Europe and Canada. She has also been a featured instructor on several crafting cruises and taught at events such as CHA, CKU, CKC, Memories Expos, Scrapbook Expo, Bonanza in England, Scrap-A-Ganza in the Netherlands and at ScrapEvent in Sweden. Jen also regularly demos inking and stamping techniques at
trade shows such as CHA, SMAC in Paris, Krea Vak in Holland and various
distributor events around the world.
Registration closes on Saturday at 4 p.m. for Jen Starr's classes. Jen is beginning her fall teaching tour and will be teaching all new classes at our store!!! Class 1: The Beauty of Inka Gold Canvas Class 10 a.m. till 12 p.m. Fee: $43
Using a combination of some of Viva D�cor's most popular product lines, you will create a 6x12 canvas in your choice of colors. The class will focus on multiple techniques using Inka Gold, 3D Stamp Paint, Modeling Cream and Glitter Pens and incorporate some of the brand new Layered Dies from Tim Holtz (these are embossed and beyond fabulous!!) as well as some of the newest stencils from The Crafter's Workshop.
Class 2: Paint, Crackle, Stencil...CREATE!!! Canvas Class
1 p.m. till 3 p.m. Fee: $43
You will create a painted, crackling, stenciled, highly textured masterpiece on an 8x12 canvas incorporating a variety of techniques and products from Viva D�cor and the brand new Jumbo floral die from Tim Holtz for the Canvas flower. The class will focus on mixing media such as Ferro, Inka Gold, and Crackle to achieve layers of beautiful depth.
Class 3: Arthouse Project Class 3:30 p.m. till 6 p.m. Fee: $48
You will create a large 3-dimensional chipboard house from scratch and then completely cover it with art! (The house measures 11" high x 7" wide x 4" deep). The class will focus on painting techniques using a combination of Art Anthology and Viva D�cor products and embossed metal...and then top it off with a tinted photo transfer using Jen's line of Dimensional Crystal paints.
