Jesse Muhammad Selected as one of the Houston Business Journal's

2011 Top 40 Under 40

HOUSTON (April 8, 2011) - For his outstanding achievements, Houston-based journalist, blogger and speaker Jesse Muhammad (pictured right) has earned the honor of being selected as one of the Houston Business Journal's 2011 40 Under 40.

"I first thank Allah (God) for using me as a vessel to do impactful work whether it is writing critical news stories, blogging or speaking before audiences across the country. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan teaches us that if we make service our first priority instead of success, then success will come. This award bears witness to that," said Jesse Muhammad, 32, a staff writer for The Final Call newspaper.

Forty of the city's accomplished up-and-coming leaders who excel in their industry, are respected business leaders, and show dynamic leadership in their community will be honored on Thursday, May 19, 2011, at the third annual 40 Under 40 Awards. Each of the 40 will be in the spotlight as they receive their award on stage in front of 500 of their Houston peers at the House of Blues located at 1204 Caroline Street.

"Thank you to the hard working staff at the Houston Business Journal for selecting me among so many giants in our city. I personally congratulate the other 39 recipients and I look forward to the celebrating with family, friends and colleagues! Our best work is yet to come," said Brother Jesse.

Brother Jesse is also presently working on his first soon to be released book, "In Search of My Father: You Can Do It Too," a memoir about how he was able to miraculously find his biological father and his relatives. The book is slated for release in September.

The 40 Under 40 award ceremony is being presented by Sterling Bank, co-sponsored by PKF Texas, HYPE and The House of Blues.
