In early February, our friend Jami Priddy suffered the unimaginable and unexpected loss of her husband, Zach. Our community is uniting to support her and their three beautiful daughters, Viviane (4), Cecilia (2), and Colette (6 months).
Micha and Nicole have teamed up to offer a practice in celebration of life and love. Nicole will open with chanting and a vinyasa flow; Micha will guide you through a grounding heart-opening series, and we'll finish with a deeply restorative savasana, set to a soundtrack of Jami & Zach's favorite songs.
This special class is an offering to raise funds to help offset unexpected medical expenses and to create support for Jami's day-to-day needs at home with her girls. As the family moves on without their beloved Zach, we are showing up for her with our support.
Please note: Donations may be made by credit card in advance; iPads and laptops linked directly to a YOUCARING site set up for the family will be on hand at the event. The second installment (rescheduled from March 26) in our series on Spirituality dives deeper into the practice of compassion. At the heart of Buddha's 84,000 teachings is bodhicitta: the awakening mind that holds the wish for enlightenment in order to free all sentient beings from suffering and lead them to happiness and freedom. We'll discuss the 5-part method of exchanging self with other, including tong-len meditation, with a healing slow flow asana practice designed to open the heart. $35
MEET JESSICA STICKLER
Jessica Stickler grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico and has always felt an irresistible magnetic pull towards New York City, where she has been living since 1998. Jessica discovered yoga as a means to manage anxiety and depression, and was attracted to the beauty of the forms and the depth of the philosophy.
Jessica is an advanced certified (800-hr) Jivamukti Yoga teacher, and serves as a mentor in Jivamukti's apprentice teaching program. She teaches the Jivamukti method internationally in Australia, Germany, Trinidad, and the Czech Republic. She loves to teach a wide range of students from beginners through advanced practitioners, and has worked closely with those who are recovering from injury.
Her classes incorporate dynamic movement, often choreographic sequencing, with special attention to alignment and modification options. Classes are infused with a variety of inspiring music, meditation, and spiritual teachings.

This yoga asana lab will be part practice and part anatomy investigation. Come debunk those confounding poses, and take your practice to the next level. Open to students and teachers alike, we will approach our understanding of alignment, anatomy, and movement from a practical and personal basis. We will explore specifics of the anatomy of the spine and put that knowledge into embodied experience. In asana lab, students and teachers frequently come to discover that knowing anatomy dramatically changes our experience of the practice. $35

Brenda Schnable is a senior yoga therapist and instructor and an author of two award winning books: Access Your Inner Power: Awakening Your Health and Vitality and Qi Infused Yoga®. She has developed Qi Infused Yoga®, that melds the flowing movements of Qigong and yoga postures into one fluid vinyasa practice. She is passionate about helping people gain and maintain their health, sharing yoga to all, especially baby boomers. She holds the status of E-RYT500 with Yoga Alliance, is certified in 24 Postures of Therapeutic Qigong, and is a member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
