The Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley

Hello Community Members,

We have been getting many questions about the situation regarding the lack of water in our building on Shalom Way.

Our staff and building committee is pursuing every avenue and leaving no stone unturned to rectify this situation as soon as possible.  Everyone has gone above and beyond the call of duty and it is now just a waiting game.  I am so grateful for the outpouring of concern, suggestions and offers of help.  Unfortunately at this point there is nothing more that we can do except wait and be patient.  This winter has been incredibly hard and the coldest it has ever been in the life of our current facilities, and there was no way to foresee or prevent this.  Right now we do not have a time-line due to the strain this winter has caused on community-wide resources.

I want to particularly thank Sinai Synagogue, Temple Beth-El, South Bend Hebrew Day School, and many other members of the community who have offered up their spaces, businesses and homes for many of our transplanted programs and meetings.  The outpouring of support shows the strength of our community.

I will keep everyone up to date as best as we are able and as we learn more.

Thank you all again.

L'Shalom,

Ben Davis
