Director of Programs and Operations, Castellano Family Foundation

The Castellano Family Foundation is dedicated to the cultivation and enrichment of Latino family values through support of organizations, primarily in the Santa Clara County community, promoting the arts, Latino culture, Latino leadership, the educational pursuits of Latino students, and special interests of the Trustees.   


Job Title: Director of Programs and Operations   

Job Description The Director of Programs and Operations provides support for the Foundation's grant management and operations support functions including grant review,  grantee relations, board support and the establishment and maintenance of office systems for financial record keeping, compliance and grant records management.


Major Responsibilities:

1.  Design, review,  maintain and implement operational and financial policies, practices, systems and guidelines for the foundation.

2. Receive, review and screen all proposals, inquiries and submissions.

3. Work with grantees and grant seekers to develop grant requests that  complement the foundation's funding priorities and interests.

4. Prepare, develop and distribute all board agendas, packets and minutes.

5. Manage board involvement in grant review, site visits and community and grantee events.

6.  Prepare and monitor an annual budget for the foundation.

7. Oversee and manage the financial operations of the foundation - including reporting, bookkeeping, operating expenses, and grant disbursements.

8. Oversee and implement communications including web site development, public relations materials and grantee communications.

9.  Performs all office functions including answering phones, managing mail, managing calendars, preparing correspondence, performing clerical tasks as needed, making travel arrangements, maintaining office supplies and computer equipment, and management of database.

10. Perform other duties as requested by the Board of Trustees.   


Accountability:  The Director of Programs and Operations is accountable to the Chairperson of the Board and members of the Board of Trustees for satisfactory fulfillment of the functions and responsibilities of this position. 

Qualifications: 
1.  Experienced organizational and nonprofit management skills
2.  Excellent oral and written communication skills
3. Computer proficient:  PC, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Quickbooks
4. Understanding of financial record keeping and non-profit/foundation finances
5. Understanding of Latino community needs and issues in Silicon Valley
6. Preference for bilingual English/Spanish speaker
7. Bachelor's degree required   

 

Hours: 25-30 hour/week

 

Compensation: Commensurate with experience; benefits negotiable
