The New Jersey Arts Education Partnership (NJAEP) was established in 2007 with the mission to provide a unified voice for a diverse group of constituents who agree on the educational benefits and impact of the arts, specifically the contribution they make to student achievement and a civilized, sustainable society.

The New Jersey Arts Education Partnership believes that the arts are an essential part of every child's education, and can be part of the solution to the many challenges currently facing our education system. Our diverse coalition of stakeholders works together to influence state policy and motivate local communities to make quality arts instruction and experiences a part of each child's education.

Position:
Reporting to and in partnership with the NJAEP Director, the Manager of Organizational Advancement oversees development efforts as the NJAEP continues to grow. This position will bring the NJAEP's work to the awareness to a larger audience. A new position in the organization, the Manager of Organizational Advancement will have the opportunity to build the organization and work to fulfill the long-range plan of the NJAEP. This is a part-time consultant position with the potential to expand.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the NJAEP's annual fundraising plan.
  • Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations and government entities.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors and identified opinion leaders.
  • Create and execute a strategy for a sustained base of donors.
  • Develop and track proposals and reports for government, foundation and corporate fundraising.
  • Manage the implementation of a data entry process and successfully carry out data entry.
  • Create communication plan in support of the development plan.
Qualifications:
  • BA (required), MA (a plus)
  • 5-plus years experience in development, public relations and communications
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of fundraising data management tools
  • Knowledge of NJ educational and arts environment - a plus
