Huddle & Event Celebrations

Wildflower Triathlons:

A big thank you to our team of volunteers who served at the Wildflower Triathlons! The group was able to shine God's light by providing a Prayer Service.  At the service, professional triathlete Matt Sheeks talked about the physical suffering that many times comes along with being a triathlete.  He compared that suffering to that of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He reminded attendees that Christ suffered the ultimate sacrifice to save us from our sins.  The group was also allowed to place FCA Endurance signs with scripture along the course route.  Many people thanked the group for the encouragement they received along the way because of the signs. All those that volunteered left feeling incredibly encouraged and with more motivation to race for the Lord.  Thank you Robin and Troy Soares and the rest of our Wildflower Ministry team for your service in making this a successful event.

San Antonio/Central Texas Huddle:

The San Antonio & Central Texas Huddle reached out to teammates in flood devastation areas. A team of volunteers quickly assembled and the group began collecting items. The huddle delivered emergency supplies and other household items for Wimberly and San Marcos residents. Thank you to all who donated items and to the entire San Antonio/Central Texas Huddle for your service. We are blessed by the leadership of Claudia & John Ruibal, and Marcelino Gutierrez. Thank you for your hearts to serve! What an incredible opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus and shine His light. If you feel called to help those affected by the recent flooding in Texas, check out this link posted on the San Antonio/Central Texas Facebook Page of ideas. Also, local animal shelters are in need of dog and cat food.

Fargo, ND Marathon:

Our Fargo Marathon ministry was a great success!  We spent two days sharing about FCA Endurance and the Lord, as well as handing out ministry resources at the expo.  We also prayed for athletes as they shared their prayer requests via our booth.  Lastly, Chris Anderson was invited to lead the pre-race prayer for all the athletes on Saturday morning (approximately 10,000) as they lined up in the Fargo Dome. A big thank you to David Uhler, Grand Forks, Huddle Leader, Nate Safe, Fargo Area FCA Local Staff Member, and the rest of our Fargo Ministry team for all your hard work.

Auburn/Newcastle, CA Huddle:

The Auburn/Newcastle Huddle recently participated and volunteered in the Auburn Triathlons. The group provided a free pasta dinner to athletes the day before the race and also served by providing two Aid Stations on race day. At the prayer service, Jaime Whitmore shared a message in regards to perseverance. She encouraged attendees by sharing that the temptation to quit happens right before you are about to succeed. We should embrace our failures as it gives us opportunity to grow. Jaime reminded attendees that life is hard and bad things happen to good people. God doesn't waste anything though, and can make all things new. There is a purpose in all that we go through. Surround yourself with those that will encourage you in your walk. "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." Romans 5:3-4. Troy Soares also shared about the power of prayer. He asked attendees to think about why do you race? Troy talked about his decision to race for Christ and not for self.  He encouraged attendees to take a leap of faith and trust Jesus with their lives. Thank you to our awesome team of volunteers for your service and to Huddle Leader, Kris Kennedy for your leadership.
