Join The Illinois Online Academy Book Study of "The Unlearning Leader"
Want to be part of a unique professional learning opportunity and receive PD hours? Join Illinois Online Academy's online book study of "The Unlearning Leader" by local superintendents Michael Lubelfeld and Nick Polyak!
The online book club will be a four week study starting on February 18th and ending March 18th. Each week, participants will participate in an online assignment through Illinois Online Academy. Participants will receive 8 PD hours from participating in the book club. The cost to join the book club and receive the PD hours is $20 and you must register before February 12, 2018.

Registration for Institute Day 2018 is still open until January 26th so make sure you've selected the location you would like to attend and have registered! On January 29th, you will receive an email with a link to register for individual breakout sessions at the location you selected.

The ROE is excited to welcome Alejandra Moreno to its team of Youth Outreach Workers. Alejandra joins the ROE with a Masters in Social Work from Aurora University and has previously worked at the Elgin Police Department and Will County Child Advocacy Center.
Alejandra will assisting schools in District 300 and District U-46 in advocating for students and parents to ensure consistent school attendance. Alejandra can be reached at 630-669-8204 and
Mark your calendars for Educator of the Year 2018, held on Friday, May 4th, 2018 at the Q Center in St. Charles! The Educator of the Year Awards celebrate the teachers, administrators, and support staff that work everyday to provide a fantastic education for students throughout Kane County.
Nominations are now being accepted by the ROE through February 26th, 2018. The nomination packet can be found here. All nominees should be skillful, dedicated, and continue to play an active role in education. This year, the ROE has put together a video that explains how to nominate someone for EOTY. Did you know that the ROE is active in establishing partnerships with schools, networks with districts, and investments in local and statewide nonprofit organizations? The ROE has established a variety of networks with the nine school districts in Kane County, including the Kane County Human Resources Consortium, Superintendents Network, etc., as well as partnerships with local nonprofits like
CASA Kane County, and more.
