Join the Santa Cruz SPCA in the 32nd Annual Human Race Walkathon and Fun Run
YOU are invited to join the Santa Cruz SPCA's team and participate in the 31st Annual Human Race on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
If just 40 people can gather $250 in pledges over the next 3 months (that's only $83 per month, per participant) we will meet our goal. And I think that we can EXCEED it! It's easy to sign up and join the SCSPCA team:

*Then "Join a Team" on the left side of the page.
*Scroll down to the Santa Cruz SPCA (number 212), click, then "Join Our Team".
From there, you can enter your information to set up your personalized web page and get started. Please send out emails to everyone you know asking them to sponsor you for this fantastic event!
The race starts behind Natural Bridges State Park and follows beautiful West Cliff Drive to the Lighthouse and back. It's an easy 5 miles and participants can run or walk with your dog or your favorite staff-approved shelter dog!
Our goal is not only to raise money but also to bring awareness of the shelter to the public. This will be a fun event, plus you'll get to hang out with the dogs who you are raising funds for! come out and show your dedication to homeless animals.

Join us and help raise money for our animal friends! For those who want to participate but do not have access to a computer, just ask when you are at the shelter. Everyone is welcome so feel free to invite your animal loving coworkers, friends, and family to join our team!
The reason we are asking you to start so far in advance is that we will all need plenty of time to collect sponsorships if we hope to meet our goal! It's easy to collect sponsorship money when you're participating for such a good cause. All you need to do is tell people about the SPCA, what the Humane Race is, how they can help...it's that easy! They can sponsor you for $1 or $1000...every little bit helps! They can donate to the team online, or you can collect cash or checks which we will deposit regularly so that we can keep track of how close we are getting to our goal.
The Human Race is an annual event to raise funds, all of which go toward local organizations.
Our goal is $10,000 and I think that if we really put our minds to it, we'll be able to easily make that happen. These animals are counting on us! |
