L.I. Against Domestic Violence
provides a range of services that help over 14,000 Long Island adults and children each year to escape from abusive relationships and build new lives. Founded in 1976, they are a regional pioneer and leader in empowering victims and survivors, providing them with shelter and support, and working with law enforcement and the community to prevent abuse.
Each year, our goal is to help them stock the shelter with items that they so greatly need. This year, they have a specific need for the following items:
- Baby monitors
- Crayons, notebooks, coloring books
- Blankets
- Cosmetics
- Tylenol (adult)
- Ibuprofen (infant/child)
- And last but not least, Gift Cards!
Gift cards donated will be distributed to their client families to purchase
holiday gifts for their children. A parent's ability to purchase gifts for their children can be very healing and empowering and many are not in a position to do so at this time.
No gift is too small. If you have an appointment in the coming days / weeks or if you are able to just stop by, we welcome your donation and will proudly deliver them to these very deserving families on your behalf. If you cannot get here but would still like to help, w
