Ready, Set, Fun!!!
Wakeman Town Farm Family Fun Day
Sunday, July 13, noon-4

Come on down to the farm for a day of old-fashioned fun for all ages, open to the whole community. Horse around with the sheep, goats, chickens and ducks; tour the organic vegetable gardens; compete in the pie-eating contest, water balloon-toss, sack races, and lawn games, and enjoy face painting and farm crafts. Hungry? Enjoy a picnic lunch on the lawns or picnic tables, featuring grass-fed burgers from Craft Butchery, sandwiches and salads with greens from Wakeman's organic gardens, lemonade, and assorted mini ice cream cones from Farmer's Cow, a group of local CT dairy farms. Photographer
Peter LaMastro will be out by the chicken coops, snapping pastoral family mementos.

Farm Steward Mike Aitkenhead says, "This is one of our favorite events of the year. It's great seeing so many kids and adults out on the lawns having fun at the farm. Every year, new families in the area stop by and say they can't believe they didn't know that there is an oasis like this right in their midst. Many people pass the farm on their way to the sports fields and have no idea that it's here.  Wakeman Town Farm is at its best when the community comes out to enjoy the property, the people and the animals. If you have been meaning to pop over and see what goes on at the farm, this is a great day to do it!"

Price: $10 per adult. $5 per child. Wakeman Town Farm, 134 Cross Highway, Westport.
