Join Us to Secure New Victories in 2018:
Your Support Will be Doubled Until Midnight on the 31st!

However difficult the terrain has been for America's environment in 2017, the Hoosier Environmental Council is unrelentingly optimistic and determined.  We forged a trail of victories in 2017 and are prepared to navigate the 2018 Indiana General Assembly, which begins in less than a week, with confidence and skill.

HEC has mapped out a
legislative plan for 2018
-- which aims to make progress for our air & water, for solar energy, for our wilderness areas, for a sustainable future for agriculture, and for our very democracy (through redistricting reform).

The journey will be challenging, but that journey becomes all the more successful when we are joined by more & more caring people like you:

Join us and your gift to HEC will be matched dollar-for-dollar until midnight, December 31st!

As our Executive Director remarked in a candid yet uplifting  speech (which we've shared below), "Great societies do not arise from nowhere, but are developed by inspiring, thoughtful, and determined choices." That  perspective captures HEC's spirit as we head into 2018.  We cannot simply hope that Indiana's environment will get better. Rather we need to make intentional choices -- daily, weekly, and monthly -- to forge a more positive future. One great choice that you can make is to join us on our journey to a truly sustainable future for Indiana: please make an end-of-year gift to HEC, and your generosity will be doubled, thanks to the Efroymson Family Fund!

Take Part in an Upcoming Volunteer Training and Participate in Town Hall Meetings

Want to  magnify your impact for Indiana's environment, but not sure how to do it?  Please join us at one of these upcoming events to get informed and empowered!

You can also talk with your legislators by attending town hall meetings (called "Third House" events); these are happening across Indiana in the coming weeks!

If you would like to learn more about anticipated bills this upcoming legislative session and would like to read talking points to help you engage with your representative and senator, please visit our  Bill Watch 2018 page.

If you have any questions about any of the above events or about our website, please contact our Outreach Coordinator, Amanda Shepherd.

Be sure to contact Amanda should you like to be involved in a January 3rd coalition event at the Indiana Statehouse -- that is just being organized -- to advance redistricting reform.

If You Attended the 2017 Greening the Statehouse,
Please Be Sure to Fill Out Our Survey

If you filled out our hard copy survey (at the event) or if you fill out  this online version , you'll be entered to win a smart thermostat. Those who filled out the survey in person will also be eligible to win a $50 gift card (per our note at the bottom of those surveys). Be sure to reply by December 30th, as our drawing will take place on the 31st!
