Senior Adviser at the United Nations Foundation and former UN Assistant Secretary-General for External Relations

Ms. Sorensen has achieved a distinguished career at the UN serving two Secretaries-General, Kofi Annan and Boutros Boutros-Ghali. During her service Ms. Sorensen was responsible for 4,000 non-governmental organizations. Ms. Sorensen is also a national advocate on matters relating to the UN - U.S. relationship.
   

 

Marking the day in 1945 when the UN Charter went into effect, United Nations Day (October 24) is a worldwide celebration recognizing the importance of a global body dedicated to prosperity, peace and justice.  

 

UNA-GB's annual UN Day Luncheon engages individuals and companies in New England who are actively engaged in global affairs and who are interested in promoting solutions that create prosperous, sustainable and healthy communities.
