Mark your calendars for our next event.....
June 7, 2012, 6PM to 7:30PM
St. Paul's Cathedral, Great Hall
Trinity in Art
Dr. Susie Babka will demonstrate how art has played a key role in articulating belief in Christianity for centuries. This lecture will examine the role of art in reflection on the doctrine of the Trinity in Christian belief, through two distinct motifs in visual art: the 'Old Testament trinity', based on Genesis 18, and the 'Throne of Grace' or Gnadenstuhl motif.
Dr. Susie Paulik Babka is Assistant Professor of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of San Diego. In addition to scholarly work on Christology and the Trinity, she is currently working on a book that relates art and theology in terms of the incarnation.
You can reserve a seat right now by clicking here. You will be directed to the Women Together @ St. Paul's webpage where you can RSVP. Let us know if you want the optional $10 light dinner (payable at the door), or, feel free to bring your own. We still need to know if you're coming, even if you don't plan to eat.
Deadline for all reservations, with or without dinner, is:
Monday, June 4.
