Support Underserved Youth and Honor State Superintendent Tom Torlakson !
Fun and entertainment to benefit a great cause!
You have a chance to join Congressman Mark DeSaulnier to honor State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson and support the non-profit Partnership for Children & Youth. (click here for tickets)

Tom Torlakson is finishing up his last year as our State Superintendent of Public Instruction.   He's served Contra Costa and California residents as an elected official since 1978, when he was first elected to the Antioch City Council as a local teacher.   He went on to serve on the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors, California State Assembly and the California State Senate.

Tom has been a fighter for youth and families for decades.   He's worked hard to improve educational opportunities for all students. That's why he's agreed to be roasted and toasted at a "Back to School Night" to benefit the Partnership for Children & Youth.

The Partnership for Children & Youth (PCY) is a statewide non-profit which has successfully increased learning opportunities for underserved youth throughout the state, and in our own communities in Contra Costa.   It has successfully advocated for more funding for quality after-school and summer learning programs in the lowest income neighborhoods in California.
