NOVEMBER
Wednesday, November 1: Faithful Pilot has half price bottles of wine starting at 3pm and live music by Molly Durnin from 6:30-8:30pm.
 
Thursday, November 2, 6-8pm: Black Watch Room has wine tasting: "Bubbles, Reds & Roses". They are happy to host the distributor for Moet, Chandon, and many other great labels. This will be a standing reception style tasting with ten wines and small bites to accompany. Perfect time to try some different bubbles to stock up for the holidays or gifts for friends and family. $20 per person. Call 563-332-5072 to reserve your spot.

  • Faithful Pilot Café & Spirits, 8-11pm: Live music by Greg & Rich Acoustic Duo.
  • Mississippi River Distilling Company will have food and cocktail sampling and the Cody Road Cocktail House is open until midnight. Live music by Ryan & the Moonshiners (Ryan Burchett, Larry Gant, and John Mahon) will bring the tunes from 7-10pm in the Distillery. Seasonal favorite, Iowa Coffee Company Liqueur will be released, and Chef Steph will be signing her new cookbook.
  • Wide River Winery Tasting Room is serving samples of baked brie.
Sign up by Saturday, November 4 for the  Monday, November 6, 6-8pm: DIY Wood Sign Workshop at Bierstube in LeClaire. You MUST pre-register to attend. Come enjoy a great time and bring some friends! This is great for girls night out, couples date night, or just a relaxing night away. You will have a fun time and get to take home a wonderful piece that you made for your home or a gift. Choose from any of our designs or have them custom design something for you! Cost depends on size of the sign you pick. Prices range from $20-$85. Custom designs may cost $10 more for design time. Join the Mississippi River Distilling Company and Cody Road Cocktail House "Cocktail Cruise!" If you've been to the Cody Road Cocktail House, you know how exciting and somewhat overwhelming the giant wall of cocktail choices can be. They always have 20 different feature cocktails on the menu. It's a tough choice because they are all delicious! Once you've tried one and you love it, then it's hard to veer off from a home run and try another. They want to encourage you to take a tour of all the cocktails on the menu. Each of the 20 cocktails will be numbered on the "Cocktail Cruise" card. Order each cocktail and have your card stamped.   • Wednesday, November 1, 3pm: LeClaire Community Library - Crafternoon. Get crafty at the library! This drop-in program is fun for all ages.
  • Thursday, November 2, 10:30am: LeClaire Community Library - Mini Makers. Sensory play encourages toddlers to explore and get to know the world around them. Head to the library to make a mess, have fun, and experience new things on the first Thursday of every month. This program is best for ages 10 months to 3 years.
  • Thursday, November 2, 4:30pm: LeClaire Community Library -Tinker Lab (Sphero Robots). Sphero is a small, round robot that can be controlled with mobile devices. Use the library's iPads to explore coding, obstacle courses, and more robot fun! Best for ages 10+.
  • Saturday, November 4, 11am: LeClaire Community Library - Card-Making with Donna Banta. Join them in making homemade greeting cards! Each participant will make 3 different cards. Class size limited to 15. Adults only.
  • Thursday, November 9, 6:30pm: LeClaire Community Library - Mostly True Tales with Spinsby & Wales - Series Kickoff. Attend the first in an ongoing series of LeClaire history talks hosted by local history keepers, Dick Wales and Marie Spinsby, and moderated by library director Ellen Miller. The series will focus on 20th century LeClaire, feature special guests, and will be treated as a community dialogue - so bring your memories, photographs, and any questions you might have about LeClaire in the past! Join them for the kickoff (which will focus on Cody Road and the business district) in the library's Community Room.
  • Thursday, November 13, 4:30pm: LeClaire Community Library - Mug Meals. Learn how to make a delicious meal using just a mug and a microwave! Follow two mouthwatering recipes to get a main course and dessert. Please bring 1-2 mugs with you. This program is best for ages 8+ and limited to 15 participants (first come, first serve). Please call ahead if you have any allergy concerns.
  • Tuesday, November 14, 4:30pm: LeClaire Community Library - Biblioteens. Go to the library on the second Tuesday of every month to share what you've been reading (whether you loved it or hated it), learn about new books, hang out, and have some free pizza! This program is best for ages 12-18.
  • Thursday, Novemebr 16, 4:30pm: LeClaire Community Library - Teen Advisory Group (TAG). Help plan cool events, request new library materials, eat snacks, and get the inside scoop on what's happening at the library! Don't forget - your attendance earns you service learning hours and looks great on college/job applications! For 7th grade & up.
  • Saturday, November 18th, 11am: LeClaire Community Library - Beginner's Knitting with Bambi Suits. Class limited to 6 adults. Call 563-289-4242 ext. 4 to reserve your spot. Must bring your own yarn and needles.
  • Tuesday, November 21, 6:30pm: LeClaire Community Library - Junior Explorers. Explore a new science theme each month at the library - November's theme is Farming!   • Wednesday, November 22, 6:30pm: LeClaire Community Library - Adult Book Club. This month they'll be reading Faithful by Alice Hoffman. Books are available at the library's circulation counter free of cost AND are now available as an eBook through our RiverShare Digital Library Catalog.
