The Nation’s Largest Yiddish Culture Festival Returns Online

December 26-30, 2020

Can’t travel over winter break? Yiddish New York, this country’s largest Yiddish culture festival, is going online this year from December 26-30! YNY offers daytime educational and arts workshops, evening concerts, and a visual arts exhibition. Be part of this amazing intergenerational community, local and international, with plenty of programs for young, old, and everyone in between.

Do you play an instrument, any instrument, and want to give klezmer a try? Consider signing up for “New 2 Klezmer” with violinist Abigale Reisman. Don’t play an instrument? No worries. Offerings range from “Folklore of Jewish Holidays” and “The Lost World of African-American Cantors” to “1000 Jewish Cookbooks” and “Wexology,” with brilliant Yiddish humorist Michael Wex.

And there’s more! Check out the great selection of dance classes, Yiddish song classes (knowledge of Yiddish not required), and Yiddish language classes. Lunchtime and evening concerts feature the best of the best. For those who saw Veretski Pass here in October 2019, you’ll have an opportunity to see Cookie and Josh perform again at YNY.

Participants can register a la carte or for the whole Yiddish New York experience. Special festival pass rates are available for kids, teens, and scholarship recipients. For more information, contact Frances Harris at franceyfidl at gmail.com.
