We're really excited to play silly games with you on the lawn this weekend at our Field Day event! The 360 Approach, a wellness studio located adjacent to Durham Central Park, will be hosting this family-friendly event for you. Plan to swing by the Market lawn from 10-11 am to play a few games and win a prize from some of our fabulous vendors. Bring the whole family for a morning of fun and pick up your groceries for the week while you're here. Also, the Master Gardeners will be available to answer all of your plant questions from 8 am-noon. There's something for everyone at the Market this weekend!

We're also very excited to announce our crowdfunding campaign for the Sprouts Kid's Club.  Last year, children learned about healthy eating, supporting local farmers, and money management in our Sprouts Club at the Wednesday Market. We hope the club will return on Wednesdays and Saturdays this year, but  we need your help to raise money for a successful Sprouts Club this season. Please consider supporting our crowdfunding campaign and  help us get the word out by e-mailing friends and family, sharing on social media, or posting on your neighborhood listservs. Thank you in advance for supporting this wonderful community cause! We cannot do it without you!

See you tomorrow!

Stoney Mountain Farm
One of the many benefits of buying directly from the farmer and not the big box store is finding cuts of meat you'd never see otherwise. Today, we'd like to introduce to  LAMB RIBS.
We'll be handing out samples of our yummy ribs. If you've never tried them, you should, a tasty morsel you'll agree!

We will have our coolers full of all our other popular cuts too.  Hope to see you on  Saturday !

Meadow Lane Farm
Delicious grass-fed meats from our farm that are also Animal Welfare Approved - you can't beat that.  "Sun, Grass, Delicious Meats" is our motto.

Fire up the grill - we have everything this Saturday.  Wonderful dry-aged ANGUS BEEF, Dorset X LAMB and Boer GOAT (Chevon), an assortment of STEAKS, Loin CHOPS, RIBS, Ground, Sausages, and much more will be available. All cuts are fresh from our farm to your plate. Also, try our Lamb BRAT's sausage on the grill - you will come back for more. Our Berkshire X PORK is so delicious - they are happy pigs that get to enjoy the outside on pasture. Sausages, roasts, smoked ham and even Eastern Style Pork Barbeque will be available at the Market.

USDA organic veggies: STRAWBERRIES, SNOW PEAS, and tender heads of Romaine lettuce... maybe a few large sweet onions.  This Saturday , we'll also have FARM FRESH Eggs from our flock of hens.

Thank you  for your continued support of our family farm!
Chapel Hill Creamery
Our popular sausage is back in! We have several varieties plus spare ribs, so it's time to pull out those grills! Sausages include Bratwurst, Mild Italian, Smoked Andouille, Smoked Polish, Maple Sage Breakfast links, and Mild Country Breakfast. Our sausages are especially good since they come from our whey fed pigs and we use the hams, which give a great meaty flavor. We chose the spices that we think you will like.

Our Carolina Moon will be on special price this week because it is ripe and ready to eat. You can enjoy it this weekend for and appetizer with strawberries or as a side with a salad with fresh, spring produce. Use half for one meal and save the second half to serve another day if you like. The Carolina Moon is made in a traditional way so that it ripens as it ages. This is an example of a SLOW FOOD, which is not the method used for a lot of commercially made cheeses of this type.

We also have our Dairyland Farmers which moist, unaged, and a little tart. Pick up our recipe for Market Salad which uses the carrots and red cabbage that are available now. Our Pheta is another versatile cheese for salads, pizza or any dish with tomatoes, cooked or raw. It is a little sharp with undertones of our rich Jersey milk.

We still have our delicious ground beef for burgers, meatballs, tacos, or stuffed cabbage leaves. Our picture today is Allison who is our herd manager and a big part of our business. She is one of the subjects for the Vitamin O photography exhibit at the Chapel Hill Library.  These are photographs of people in Orange County taken by Alicia Stemper. We also had travel writers come visit our farm as part of their convention in Chapel Hill. See more pictures of our farm on our Facebook and enjoy the weekend.

Honeygirl Meadery
Honeygirl Meadery is a small urban meadery in downtown Durham, making an ancient craft beverage for modern days. Mead is essentially wine made from honey, with many different styles that include meads made with fruits, flowers and herbs. Our meads are hand-crafted libations made in small batches, using both local and global true source honey, local fruits, herbs and flowers. They are naturally gluten free.  Our downtown Durham Tasting Room is open on  Saturdays from 1-6 pm and Sundays from 1-5pm.

This week we will be sampling our Strawberry Mead, made with local strawberries from McAdams Farm fermented with NC wildflower honey. This mead is like the strawberry season captured in a bottle, fresh and fragrant, light-bodied and dry, with a soft, lingering strawberry finish.

We will also be sampling our Hibiscus Lemonthyme Mead, floral, earthy and herbal dry-style mead with NC wildflower honey, dried hibiscus petals and fresh lemonthyme; and Ginger Mead, a dark wildflower honey traditional mead, semi-sweet and infused with local ginger.

We will also have bottles available of our Fig Orange Mead, semi-sweet mead with honey, floral, caramel and fig notes, and Spiced Apple Cyser, our apple pie mead, made from NC cider and NC wildflower honey.
